Trains between the two cities are frequent (about every 20 minutes) and take about 40 minutes. No need to pre-book. Pay by either cash or Visa/Mastercard (many places don't take Amex but I don't know  whether that's the case with train tickets).

Chester's a nice place for the day (it's a short drive from home). If the weather is good, have a walk round the city walls (originally Roman but  extended and improved in medieval times)

    Thank you. This is great.

  2. Hello.

We just had our itinerary changed with Liverpool added. I wanted to get some guidance on travelling to Chester by train. I believe we can walk to the James Street station and get a direct train. Do we need to pre-book tickets? If we can buy on the day of is it better to have cash or can we use a US credit card?

    Thank you for any assistance.

I added up one of Miracle's new Europe cruises (just for fun, its way too expensive for it to ever happen) and when I got to the end it said all guests must be 12 or older. Does anyone know anything about this?

The prices are insane! I’ve priced newer ships on other lines for less. This model of N. Europe until late August before going to the Med is disappointing as well. It would be nice if they would change every other year so those of us who want to do the Med but need to travel while school is out can do so on Carnival.

i saw the 12 year old thing too. Must think every ship has Havana 🤪

  4. I just sailed on Sunshine in September. My 2nd time on her. Awful food, the worst of any cruise I have ever been on. There is a window on Lido across from the burrito place that has 3 large cracks that are very noticeable. We found a cockroach in our bathroom and another in the bathroom on Lifo beside Blue Iguana. I have never seen a bug in a cruise ship. That ship is a disgrace and we cancelled our annual fall trip for 2024. I put all of this in my post cruise survey.

The whole system is down.  It's called maintenance. When do you want them to do it

I don’t expect a company to have their website down for 2 full days. I expect website maintenance to not impact customers by being done overnight. I work for a large company and if we restricted access for our customers there would be heck to pay and we would probably lose a lot of clients.

  6. This thread and several on another site convinced me to not book Beyond for our first Celebrity Cruise. The ship is amazingly beautiful, I really wanted to sail with Captain Kate and her weird cat and the itinerary was bucket list worthy. I am intrigued by the Infinite Balcony and would have given it a go. As a budget conscious traveler I could not spend the most I have ever spent on a cruise (even though it is for 2 special birthdays) with even a possibility of those noises and the lack of sleep that might occur. No, I don’t like ear plugs or noise machines.

If we love our cruise on Equinox and I read that the noises are fixed on this class of ship I would certainly give it a try.

  7. UPDATE! After paying the expedited fee on Thursday my mom and I both got emails THIS MORNING saying our passports had been shipped!! Really? Like they were just waiting for the extra money and they would stop holding my passport hostage? I am so ticked by this.

    Assume you submitted by mail?

I submitted online.  I was finally able to get in and it is still "in processing" after 8 weeks. I went ahead an paid the extra $60 for expedited.  Let's hope that clicks something and it comes soon. I also checked my mom's who submitted online the same day and hers was still just "received"!! Paid the extra there too.  We don't cruise until May but I thought January would be early enough since we never had a problem in the past.
