Dump that cabin.  You are too close to the Queens Lounge.  You will be blown away by the music from the bands below.  These cabins above the music are an absolute joke.  The halls actually vibrate in that part of the ship when they strike up the bands.

When I was on the Koningsdam, I saw suitcases outside those cabins on the second morning of the cruise as cruisers relocated.

My wife and I were on the Oosterdam in January.  We captured a bed bug from our bed in a plastic bag.  We took the bug to the front desk.  Our room was torn apart by the crew.  We were assured that there was not an infestation in our cabin and we were offered all kinds of cleaning services. 

The head of the cleaning crew told us that our situation was not unique.  We slept a bit uneasily for a night or two, but there was no problem with bites or more bugs.....but our room stewards were very concerned and checked with us continually.

I never post on this board, but I was really offended by the shade given to the OP by some.

I would like to use your notes on Herculaneum during our visit in October. Thanks in advance.

Thank you MaureenXX and Someotherguy. I appreciate your feedback. The links give me an idea about what I'll be planning when I get off the ship....and the nuts and bolts of public transportation, finding some interesting food, and getting back to the port.

My wife and I will be arriving in Japan aboard HAL Amsterdam. We would like to enjoy our one day stops in Kushiro and Hakodate without a ship tour, but I'm having a hard time researching these two ports. Does anyone have ideas or suggestions? It's our first trip to Asia and we do not speak Japanese.
