  1. We will be arriving Sunday,  Nov 12 at 4 pm and leaving Monday, Nov 13 at 4 pm.  I understand that the 13th is holiday, Remembrance Day.  We love Bermuda and usually like to do things on our own, not book a ships tour.  So;

    1. Will the buses and ferry be on a holiday schedule?  Will they be running from the Dockyard?

    2. Will the shops and museums Hamilton be open?  if so are hours changed?

    3. I understand there is a parade on Remembrance Day.  Where does that go and at what time?  We would like to pay our respects.

    4. Will anything be open after 5pm on the dockyard?  Website says shops close at 5pm when a ship is in port, but we don't get there until 4.

I've tried to find this info on websites, but not clear on these points.

    Thanks so much

  2. So disappointed!  I ordered a birthday package for my aunt who turned 97 the day the cruise embarked.  It was never delivered.  😠

Just not good business. I get that cruise ships are under staffed, so maybe they ought to suspend the gift options until they are fully staffed.  Waiting to hear back from them.  I gave them all information, ship, sailing date,  reservation number., cabin number,  order number, name of person in cabin...

  3. My NCL cruise consultant said that Splash Academy on the Breakaway will be in in full swing June 1st.  However, others on CC and Facebook said you can't rely on what shore staff says because it may be different from the ship reality.  We have our fingers crossed that there will be Splash Academy for our 5 grandkids on our June 5th cruise.  They are so looking forward to it.

  4. We are a family of 11, grandparents, parents and 5 kids 10 to 2.  In January 2022, DH and I cruised to Tortola on NCL and took a ship tour via safari taxi and loved it.  Our taxi driver drove Blue Reign and we felt very safe with him driving on those scary roads.  Now we are coming back with the whole family in June and wondering if we could book that taxi or another to take us on a tour of the area and to a beach for a couple of hours.

  5. Our first time in Bonaire we did a snorkel tour.  It was one of the best snorkel experiences, with lots of fish and turtles.  The next time in Bonaire we rented a golf cart within walking distance of the cruise port and drove around the coastal area at our leisure .  That was fun, too.

  6. For the past several cruises in NCL we have purchased a wine deal 6 or 12  bottles for one price and you get to pick out which bottles from a list.  Then you get a slip for each bottle of wine and present it to your waiter at dinner.  We are not big on mixed drinks, but do love our wine with dinner.  Wonder if they are still doing that.

Years ago, on NCL out of New Orleans we ordered a "house red". When my husband brought it to the table he turned the table so I could not see it.  Hmmm. Turns out it was Tisdale which we can buy at out local gas station for $5.  They were changing $23.  Tisdale is a friends favorite so for for his 60th birthday we got him a bottle of Tisdale, stuck an NCL label on it and a price tag of $23.  😁

  7. We will be in Sydney 9/30.  If we get off the ship in port can we arrange to get to Fort Louisbourg without renting a car?  Doesn't look like private tours (Blackwood) have an opening .

Are the reenactors all gone by then?  We love history and the fort sounds neat..

  8. Just got back from Port San Antonio to Buenos Aires.  DEFINITELY PORT SIDE.  We had a balcony on port side and it was great.  One has to get up early to view some of the sights, glaciers and Beagle Channel.  This way you can throw on a sweater or coat and not have to get fully dressed to get out on deck if you over sleep or are just not a morning person.  On deck you get a wider view, but it felt closer to the shore on a lower deck.  Don't forget the binoculars!

  9. We would like to do the train in Ushuaia, but Viator is not allowing us to purchase tickets on the day we are in port, February 23.  Our ship does not get in until noon.

How far from where the ship is docked is the train?  Can one walk there?  How do you get there?

Do you need to take a taxi to get there?

Might there be a problem in getting a ticket that day?

If you don't take the train back, what transportation is available to get back to the port?

The ship is not scheduled to leave until 8 pm.   Will shops still be open late for cruise passengers?

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer.

  10. We were planning on doing the Hop 0n hop off in Montevideo in 2017.  We walked off the ship to just outside the gated area and saw a tour bus being offered for $20 pp.  We took that and were glad we did.  Good tour in English and Spanish.  The HOHO was crowded and infrequent.  Not sure if that $20 tour will be available.  We are going there again this February and not sure what we will do this time.

  11. WOW. Thanks for all of these responses. We are already treating our kids to the whole cruise, so not sure we can spring for a meal package, too. They only want one cozy meal to themselves as kind of a date night, anyway. Thanks for the comments. Kids can eat free in the SD? They don't have to be on the Plan?
