  1. We will have 4 kids 8 and under and myself who cannot be in the sun all day.  Once upon a time you could grab some beach chairs and some shade for no cost.  Now it looks like all the chairs cost money and shade is even more money.  Is this try or are there still free options at these locations?  I really don’t want to spend thousands to get a cabana but I don’t want to stay on the ship either.  My chemo limits me to how much sun I can get.  I will have a hat and shirt as well as sunscreen but shade definitely helps.  Two of the kids are 1 as well.  Look forward to hear our options, thanks.

  2. One would think that if you contacted Royal they would be able to offer a good solution for you.  Never be afraid to use the cancer card.  I am looking to see what is available as well as I can’t be in the sun.  Once upon a time you could get a chair and some shade right off the ship but now it looks like it will cost between $200 and $4000 to get a chair.  Was hoping for a free beach stop but I am not sure if that is possible.

  3. Our last cruise was on NCL and we watched a video before hand and just had to check in at the muster station, is Royal doing the same thing now?  Standing on deck with life jackets on was the worst.

We always head to the buffet for lunch and then from there it varies depending when the rooms are available.  My wife likes to get thing organized as quickly as possible.

Our last cruise we did not need reservations for anything except for the comedians. Do you really need reservations for all shows?  Of course there will be 11 of us so might need to.

     that's sort of true.

    but also sort of not.

the rule still applies, regardless of whether a declaration form is being used... but the language is very broad.

i've traveled extensively by air and also by sea. and several times, with packaged food, such as jam from england and maple syrup from canada and cheese from holland (via aruba), i have asked about this very thing. and they have always said: "no, no, we don't care about that. we want to know about raw or organic food, plants and meats." and they just waved me through.

they're looking for balut, they're looking for plants, they're looking for uncooked meat and fish. anything packaged and sealed is generally OK.

as for maple syrup, on my most recent cruise on the joy, after coming back on board with two bottles of maple syrup... the NCL security personnel insisted - after viewing them in the x-ray machine - that i had alcoholic beverages and they asked me to open my bag.

Who is they, who asked you about things?
