We will have 4 kids 8 and under and myself who cannot be in the sun all day. Once upon a time you could grab some beach chairs and some shade for no cost. Now it looks like all the chairs cost money and shade is even more money. Is this try or are there still free options at these locations? I really don’t want to spend thousands to get a cabana but I don’t want to stay on the ship either. My chemo limits me to how much sun I can get. I will have a hat and shirt as well as sunscreen but shade definitely helps. Two of the kids are 1 as well. Look forward to hear our options, thanks.

One would think that if you contacted Royal they would be able to offer a good solution for you. Never be afraid to use the cancer card. I am looking to see what is available as well as I can’t be in the sun. Once upon a time you could get a chair and some shade right off the ship but now it looks like it will cost between $200 and $4000 to get a chair. Was hoping for a free beach stop but I am not sure if that is possible.

We will be stopping at Puerto Plata on the Adventure. What is the port like and how close is the nearest beach? We were hoping to have a beach day but not sure what is available.

Our last cruise was on NCL and we watched a video before hand and just had to check in at the muster station, is Royal doing the same thing now? Standing on deck with life jackets on was the worst.
We always head to the buffet for lunch and then from there it varies depending when the rooms are available. My wife likes to get thing organized as quickly as possible.
Our last cruise we did not need reservations for anything except for the comedians. Do you really need reservations for all shows? Of course there will be 11 of us so might need to.

Definitely 2 room which equals 2 bathrooms. You can generally buy a 6 or 12 pack of water, also bring or get a refillable cup and us the ice and water stations to fill up. You would only need one photo plan and wifi is per person or device I believe. Massages are nice but can be expensive.

For we would go to the buffet or anytime dining.

Thank you, we are booking the Adventure so I guess I have the answer.

Hi, in the process of booking 4 balcony cabins and wondering if Royal will open the gates between the balconies. On a recent NCL trip they refused to open up the balconies. We can book 2 sets on connecting rooms but wondering if we might be able to book 4 rooms in a row. Thanks.

that's sort of true.
but also sort of not.
the rule still applies, regardless of whether a declaration form is being used... but the language is very broad.
i've traveled extensively by air and also by sea. and several times, with packaged food, such as jam from england and maple syrup from canada and cheese from holland (via aruba), i have asked about this very thing. and they have always said: "no, no, we don't care about that. we want to know about raw or organic food, plants and meats." and they just waved me through.
they're looking for balut, they're looking for plants, they're looking for uncooked meat and fish. anything packaged and sealed is generally OK.
as for maple syrup, on my most recent cruise on the joy, after coming back on board with two bottles of maple syrup... the NCL security personnel insisted - after viewing them in the x-ray machine - that i had alcoholic beverages and they asked me to open my bag.
Who is they, who asked you about things?

This is true. Servers may tell you that there is a limit, but there is not. The only limit is one entre.
We were told before we were seated what we were allowed.

I have seen conflicting reports from people that say it is not unlimited appetizers, sides and desserts. Only 1 of each when you use one of the specialty dining credits. which is it?
You get 1 app, 1 soup or salad, one entree and 1 dessert. Anything else you will get charged.

I know on the Encore there was no place to declare anything. We walked by the custom area leaving the ship but there was no one there. We just left.
-
That would have been nice. We bought the 12 pack of liter boxes on day one plus a couple others at a bar. Also drank water from the Observation lounge a lot. I drink a lot of water.
-
We were on the Encore 2 weeks ago in a Club balcony and I do not recall seeing a coffee maker. Not that we would use it as there was plenty of coffee at breakfast.

We had about a half dozen then once in your room you need to watch it again. Once onboard you check into your muster station. Better than having the drill.

We sailed 9/11 and did the test through NCL at $45 each. Things are changing daily. Those that did not test ahead of time were brought to the side to take the retest and wait for results. This was Seattle but we had a stop in Canada. It would be nice if they eliminate it though.

We upgraded to unlimited for $109. each. There is a second upgrade for streaming. Worked out ok, could use my phone or iPad but not at the same time. My wife could do the same. Friends stayed with the 150 minutes but forgot to log out one day so all the minutes got used up.

I used the ones that they mailed to us, similar to airline tags.
-
All I know is they call your stateroom once or twice everyday bothering you while on vacation. Pain in the butts.
-
We use FaceTime or Facebook messenger calling. No cost for either one.

We sailed with the basic 2 meal package. We got 1 app, 1 soup or salad, 1 entree and 1 dessert. If we had ordered anything else they would have charged us for it.

I'm fine with Pepsi but I despise Aquafina water. Good riddance Aquafina...hello Dasani!!
On the cruise I was just on the water was boxed, I forget the name but it was not Aquafina or Dasani. My wife hates Dasani, says it is too oily.

Pepsi last week.

Just getting back to Carnival so haven’t heard this. I know on NCL there is a $10 delivery charge for room service so we didn’t use it. We would go to the buffet and bring food back to the room.
