  1. The only ships that have splash areas for children in diapers are the Disney ships, and RCI's Freedom, Oasis, and Quantum class ships.

The kind of blow up tub that is really only the size of his seat and legs is preferrable if taking on deck. You should plan to use it in an area away from the main pools and out of traffic areas as a courtesy to other guests and for safety. You can fill it and dump it from the showers on the pool deck.

    Good to know thank you!

  2. No pools will allow diapered people...whether babies or not! You might want to bring a blow up tub for bathing in the shower. Bring any and all possible baby medications.....fever reducer, teething stuff, earache stuff, tummy ache stuff....if you even THINK you might need it, bring it. The ship doesn't carry pediatric stuff! Bring all the diapers and paraphernalia you'll need!

There are plenty of baby-friendly foods, so you shouldn't need to bring jarred foods. You've got the right idea...go with the flow! Sounds like you will have the occasional babysitter, too, so that's nice!

Do you think we could use the blow up tub on deck? My baby loves to be in the water and to swim, so it will be hard to keep him out of the water... Is there a splash zone he can go to?

We'll have occasional babysitter as you said, it will be great! :D

  3. Hi! We're going on the Escape in December. We'll be my fiancé and I with our 14 month old baby, my parents and my fiancé's parents. This will be our 9th cruise, but first with our baby.

Do you have any advices, tips or tricks to give us in order to make our trip as enjoyable as possible? We are aware that we'll have to go with the flow, follow our son's schedule and let him nap whenever he needs it. We bought an umbrella stroller and also have a baby carrier.

    Thanks for your help!

  4. Tortola is a beautiful island to tour and also has gorgeous beaches. For your shorter day in port you could take an island tour from one of the drivers at the dock, The safari taxi group tours are quite inexpensive at ~$25pp for 3 - 4 hrs. If you want a van or something safer for the 14 month old, the gals at the visitor center can help you with that. You can also include a beach stop for lunch and to relax for an hour or so.

For a nice beach day you can just taxi to Cane Garden Bay which is home to several beach bars/restaurants and most of your fellow cruisers will go there. Or Brewers Bay which has one beach bar and more rustic restrooms. Group taxi fare to either beach is $8pp each way, the child is free.

However, another option which is a nice way to get away from the crowds and enjoy a nice little island is to taxi to Trellis Bay, There is a very nice pottery shop in Trellis Bay (Aragorn's), and you can take the short, free ferry to Marina Cay. The ferry runs hourly from 8:30AM - 11:30PM. You can have a lunch at Pusser's Pub there and explore the island. Very nice spot and unique - nice day that!

There is also a nice pottery shop in Trellis Bay (Aragorn's), as well as De Loose Mongoose and Cyber Cafe.

Thank you so much I will look into all of those!

  5. We took our 2 year old granddaughter to Blue Lagoon on a ship excursion last year. You can take a stroller on the ferry and we had a diaper bag as well. There is a wooden dock/walkway that passes right by the dolphins that you easily see. There was a paved walk way at the end of the dock. You can park the stroller under the trees (I think there was loungers there as well) Sand is soft and white. We took a small bag of sand box toys but you could make do with a plastic spoon and an empty cup. The water was shallow and very calm. We bought a floatation seat from Target that folded up with an easy twist and fit into a suit case with ease. It had an inner and outer ring that you blew up easily and was very stable. Make sure you bring sunscreen. The excursion included lunch that could be appropriate for some 14 month olds. We all really enjoyed the day and it was not crazy busy like Junkanoo Beach and way cleaner.

I'll look into Blue Lagoon thank you! Can you remember how much was the cost of the excursion? How far was it from the port? Thanks!

  6. Hi! We will be in Nassau in December for a short day, from 12pm to 7pm. We will have our 14 months old baby with us as well as my parents and in-laws.

What would you recommend as far as excursions and activities?

    Thank you!

  7. Hi! I have followed your review and I find it really interestinf! It's actually the best review I've ever read!!!!

My boyfriend and I are going on the Fantasy on December 3rd to the Bahamas, cabin M248. We're arriving in Charleston the day before (the 2nd). I booked the Embassy Suites near the airport, since they have a cruise package and the hotel seams nice, and the reviews are pretty good on TripAdvisor... Can you tell me about this hotel? What do you think of it? Have you heard good, or bad things about it?!

    Thank you very much!!!
