  1. Continue to check for sales - I'm wondering what they will offer after Christmas into January. DH and I booked in October for our July 14 day cruise - it came with 2 perks and we decided on the classic beverage package and prepaid grats on a refundable deposit.  During their Black Friday sale, I rebooked it with a price that was $369 LESS than the original booking and we have the following perks - classic beverage package, pre-paid gratuities, and total of $500 OBC.  We had to have a nonrefundable deposit, but it was only $25 pp.  So, keep checking!

  2. DH and I are going on the Celebrity Silhouette July 2020.  We will be in St. Petersburg for 2 days.  If we go through the ship for our excursion, will they take care of our visa, or do we still have to do that ourselves before going?  I know that private tours in St. Petersburg offers to take care of the tourist visa themselves.  I just want to make sure that Celebrity will do the same.  Thanks!

  3. We were also on this sailing.....and as far as Bruges transportation goes out of the port.....they say it is 20 Euros to return to the ship giving you the sense that going into the city was complimentary.  Not the case - you had to pay the full 20 Euros pp before you were taken to the city centre and if you just wanted to enter (and not return) it was a 10 Euro charge per person.

  4. Hi everyone,

I know this has been asked many times before, but I simply do not have time to go search on all the threads.  I did look through the first 3 pages of threads without any luck.  Anyway, can anyone tell me the following......

    1.  If I put a debit card as the on-board expense account online, at what point does Carnival put a hold on the account?

    2.  What is the amount of the hold?

    Thanks for any help!

  5. Hi everyone!  I was hoping if someone could tell me if the Qsine or Le Petit Chef Qsine is on the Reflection or not.....  The website says it is on the ship, and I have seen YouTube videos of Qsine on the ship, but it's not offered as a restaurant choice under our current reservation.  So, when I was on the phone to Celebrity on another matter, I asked about it.  I was told that there is NOT a Qsine on the ship, but I could have sworn that I've read posts on various groups from people that say Yes, they ate there on the Reflection just a few weeks ago.  So, needless to say, I'm just a bit confused.  I do understand that Celebrity is doing an extensive revamping of their ships and wondering if I have gotten crossed messages from various people. Since we do not sail until July, maybe it will be closed by then.... I don't know.   So..... can anyone confirm that Qsine is on the Reflection and open for business right now?  Thanks!

  6. I rebooked our balcony room under this deal just a couple hours ago - got extra perks and an additional $200 dollars obc - all for LESS money than original booking.  Even the person helping me couldn't believe it.  I call that a win in my book!

  7. My family and I are going on Celebrity Reflection in July leaving out of Amsterdam.  It arrives back to Amsterdam at 6:00 am.  We plan on flying to England for an extended vacation stay.  I have no idea how fast we can get off the ship or even how close the airport is to the port.  Is a flight at 9:05 am unrealistic???  It's the only flight at a good price that day.  It's our first Celebrity cruise so I'm unsure if their disembarkation process is timely or not.  I would appreciate any advice.  Thanks!

  8. The Legend has the Seafood Shack. We cruised to Alaska in May. My daughter and I shared the seafood platter a couple of times, and it was worth the $10 to us. We were able to eat a little of this, a little of that, etc and try it all.

  9. I can only really help out with #3

We booked it from our tv in the room, and when it was time we met down in the theater, went as a group and boarded a smaller boat. The boat had an inside area with seats and then you could go up some stairs to an observation deck and take picture and enjoy. We got really close to the glacier and we got to see it calf. The wildlife was amazing....whales, brown bears, several bald eagles. The cascades were simply breath taking. Oh and the boat they have coffee soda and little snacks to purchase. Simply an amazing time!

Thanks for the quick reply! Do you remember how much this cost? I'm trying to make sure we have the trip paid (or have money set side aside) to pay off the credit card. Since there is three of us, I'm sure this excursion will cost some $$.

    Thanks!

  10. Hi I can only really answer question two and take a stab at at question one... let's start at the beginning...

A1: I know they have some sort of theme night that invokes different music e.g. Caribbean theme night/Mexican night (don't know what others may differ between carnival AU and Carnival USA) the bands and the DJ will probably play like your popular songs throughout the decades at night with no real set genre.

A2: sushi... my one weakness... sushi on a boat... I surrender... sushi on a boat on a ship... that's it I give up. On Australian sailings we have a sushi on a boat for $20 (not including tips) that feeds 2 people that includes miso for 2 soybeans for 2 and a giant sushi boat! $20 is a fair price for this as you get way more for your money. From memory the average price was $3-5 for a roll and $7-10 for sake. I've attached a photo of our sushi boat on a ship to satisfy they eyes and the heart...

Thank you for the quick reply! The sushi boat looks fabulous!! I tend to get a sushi platter pre-ordered through the Fun Shops, but decided to just put that money (plus more, lol) towards the Bonsai place.

  11. Hi everyone! Family and I will be on the Legend in May, and I have a few questions if anyone can help answer them. This is our first Alaskan trip and first time on the Legend.

    1. This is an odd question, but what kind of music do they play on the ship? Caribbean cruises have Caribbean music......I can't imagine listening to Caribbean music when I'm in Alaska though....

    2. Does anyone know the prices of the Bonsai Sushi place? I found a menu, but no prices. I was just wondering how much $$ I should allot for just sushi. Lol

    3. I've been told that there is an excursion through Glacier Bay that can only be booked on the ship. Can anyone tell me more about this, please - description, cost, does it tend to sell out quickly, etc.?

    Thanks,

  12. Thanks for offering to post the Fun Times after your trip, Bakersdozen12! We are on the May 23rd sailing.

I'm also interested in any tips for the cruise - great places on the ship to watch the wildlife/glaciers, etc.

Does anyone know the prices at the Bonsai Sushi place? I found a menu, but no prices. I'm just wondering if it reasonable or really expensive.

Also, I've been told that there is an excursion that can only be purchased on the ship to get you up close and personal going through Glacier Bay. Can anyone give me details on this, please - description, cost, is it easily sold out, etc.?

    Thanks!
