  2. Apparently she is protected by a recent greek law

We would like to inform you that the Greek government -faced with the unprecedented turn of events and following the example of other countries in the European Union such as France, Italy, Spain and Germany- passed a law that allows businesses in the travel industry to issue a credit note instead of extending an immediate refund in the case of cancellations of tourism services. This initiative was taken in order to protect both businesses and their customers, to ensure the viability of the tourism enterprises and secure the deposits of their clients. This aforementioned law is effective from February 25th2020 and applies to all services related to tourism, for business to customer (B2C) and for business to business (B2B) transactions. To issue a credit note in the form of a voucher, instead of a cash refund, is now common practice across the tourism industry, meaning that also we, as a business, will be receiving credit notes for any deposits we have made to our associates for future bookings.

pesonally I don’t think the credit card will reverse the charge

  4. The GoldenPrinces was in dry dock prior to my April 14th

    Cruise from Singapore to Tokyo

It was a shake out cruise many issues & complaints.

No A/C, water dripping, toilets not working

My cabin was perfect E605 no complaints

Had a great cruise loved all the ports. The staff was wonderful.

I got off in Tokyo, the Golden Princess continued on to

Alaska & Vancouver for the Alaskan summer cruise season

All the kinks should be worked out by the Alaskan season

  5. I tried to book transatlantic from Helsinki to NY Aug 31,2019

Balcony, everything included obstructed views were sold out on Emerald deck

Except for guaranteed on Dec14 11:30 EST.

That evening from home I tried again there were 2 aft Balaconies available on Emerald deck

I immediately grabbed it. I would rather know the location of my cabin than take a chance with a guarantee cabin.

I know transatlantics are popular, can’t believe most of the cabins sold out

Will keep my eye on availability & pricing over 2018 & 2019

Any ideas why this is happening??

  6. Assuming you are asking about the April 2018 transpacific cruise:

On the US website I only see this being sold as Tokyo to Vancouver (or Singapore to Vancouver)

And both options show as completely sold out.

Though further examination reveals that the cruise embarking May 12 2018 from Whittier to Vancouver is listed as offered--though sold out except for full suites.

I don't believe Princess has offered this "northern" Transpacific sailing anytime in the recent past; usually they only offer Sydney to Los Angeles/San Francisco/Vancouver during the years they have any Transpacifics at all. But I have read a few "live from" blogs from similar cruises on other lines (this itinerary is actually on my if-I-win-the-lotto short list). Between May 4 and 12 you would be either on Hokkaido Island or at sea from Japan to Alaska. You will still encounter winter weather: frost or even ice or snow on deck and short daylight hours--compounded by moving the clocks forward almost every day (seven hours time difference between Muroran and Whittier). This cruise is really for the adventurous. Or someone so tired of hot weather cruises they are dying to try the polar opposite.

Yes, I have deposits On both the Singapore to Anchorage and Singapore to Tokyo.

I want to go to Vietnam Nam but the short cruise is 13 days a long way to go from JFK to Singapore for 13 Days,

The longer cruise intrigues me, 29 days a long time to be away and my dogs in the kennel.

Can't understand why this cruise should be so popular

Thanks for the info re the cruise

    Judy

  7. I need some advice.

Has anyone done the Singapore to Anchorage cruise?

    What was your experience

I can't decide whether to do the 13 day Singapore to Tokyo.

Or combine the 2nd leg Tokyo to Anchorage

The longest I have cruised is 17 days

This cruise is in 2018 on the Golden Princess

    Judy
