  1. Greetings,

We are booked for Sept. 19th. cruise. We are both 71 years of age and of course have underlying issues. We have been on 25 cruises around the world and love cruising. Will we go on this cruise....maybe. We will see how things turn out over the next couple of months and also see what restrictions / changes cruise line will make. You do not want to go on a cruise and feel and have so many restrictions and policy's in place that the cruise is not enjoyable. We have a Hawaii Cruise set for late  October also so if we miss this one we have a back up plan

  2. Just checked on Panorama because we live in Huntington Beach and can see all theships at anchor in Long Beach. Saw Panorama a couple ofdaysago then she was gone. Checked ship locator and she is enroute to Philippines. Maybeto drop off crew members ???

  3. Thanks for the news. I had $150.00 dlls. of Fun Points credit for a Panorama cruise. Called BARCLAYS was given a case number and 3 weeks later was sent a letter saying Barclays could not resolve the problem even though I had a redemption number and all documentation. Have spent over 3 hours on hold with Barclays and have no luck with speaking with anyone. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

  4. Had previously redeemed  150 Fun Points on Panorama for 3/21/19 sail. Cruise was cancelled. Icalled Barclays and explained situation and requested that Fun Points be put back into my account. Was given a case number etc. Yesterday i received  a letter from Barclays advising  me that they could not resolve the request. Looks like I just lost $150.00 dlls. worth of points through no fault of mine. Anyone else had this problem ? Were you able to resolve with Barclays ?

  5. Greetings,

We were booked on Panorama for March 21st. sailing. We live 15mins. from the port so no airlines were involved. In our 70's so we cancelled the cruise. WE have been on 25 cruises around the world, nothing has ever happened. With that being said and as a Viet Nam Vet there was an old saying, " When you least expect it....your elected....." Better safe than sorry. Good Luck to those that sail.

  6. On one cruise over Christmas there was Christmas Carol Music being piped thru ship. I was at the Guest Services Desk and a Muslim Lady as upset and offended about the music being played. She advised desk that she wanted the music stopped or else she would remove her Gratuities, which she did..... Music was not stopped.

  7. Quick question. I cannot consume alcohol due to heart medication I am taking. If my doctor writes a note advising of such do I still have to purchase package ? My wife would like to purchase pkg. but I cannot. Just want one pkg.

  8. We are doing 28 Day Cruise that includes Hawaii and Tahiti. From what I understand there are 3 Formal Nights. Our idea of formal for Tahiti is Hawaiian Shirts and slacks. Any info from people who have taken the 28 Day Hawaii /Tahiti Cruise.

  9. Twenty five years ago, flying to the Caribbean from California......used to have to pack suits, ties, too many shoes, formal attire and semi formal attire. Now, I think it is much more relaxes. With the cost of suitcases to bring all that stuff its nice that its not so much required. I agree that a nice pair of slacks, shirt maybe tie or w/o with a casual jacket is just fine for men. Ladies, maybe black cocktail dress that packs well add a little sparkle jewelry and that's fine also. I no longer pack long gowns or suits. I agree that anyone who wants to dress formal and drag all that stuff with....go for it. Even when we leave out of LA as we will this trip without flying I want to travel simply. But I agree on any night for dinner use common sense. A nice pair of jeans with a nice shirt and shoes....not flip flops is good for guys. No cut off jeans or tank tops please. Ladies also......common sense.... what would be okay at the buffet or around the pool should be taken up a notch. Looking forward to this cruise....we will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and my husbands 70th birthday !!! Aloha !! Hopefully there will be a meet and greet on board...looking forward to it !!

  10. Aloha. My wife and I are doing a 28 Day to Hawaii and Tahiti. The ship has scheduled 4 Formal nights. Seems like a lot for the cruise plus the island itinerary. Formal nights for us will be Hawaiian Shirts etc. My DW would never allow me towear a T Shirt to the MDR. I have learned to listen after 50 years of marriage...

  11. Just returned from Ruby and had Lobster at Crown Grill. Not good at all. Looked like it had been run over by a truck. Presentation was horrible. Lobster was split down the middle not layered on top of the shell. Was no bigger than a large shrimp. My wife couldn't finish hers because it was like chewing on rubber bands. Should of went for the lamb chops.

  12. Yes....we have used them also. We had them in Rome, Florence and Naples. You just go to their website and look first for someone who has already started a tour that you could join...or start your own. We did all of these and filled all our vans...usually 8 passengers. They were great, much better price than cruise ship and much more flexible as to what we wanted to see and where to stop. On that Mediteranean cruise someone attached a sheet listing all the excursions and how many spots were left. Then everyone could see to add their name to a tour. I would of liked to see that on this Sydney trip, but there isn't one and I'm not "techy" enough to do that !!! Getting Closer !! We just booked our last excursion in New Zealand today !! ;)

  13. Yes...we have organized and used shareashoreexursionsitaly on our last mediteranian cruise. 'we used them in Florence and Rome and joined another in Naples. They were wonderful !!!! Just make sure you request a guide that speaks English well....it was wonderful and the price much better and a smaller group than the cruise ships...

  14. My husband and I organized two tours through Share a Shore Excursions in Italy last fall. We did Florence and Rome with them. It was absolutely great and we enjoyed it tremendously. We went with another group on the Naples tour to Sorrento, Almafi Coast etc. Our boards on cruise critic had an attachment with all the tours everyone was planning....so if there was room anyone could just jump on the website and add themselves to the tour then update the tour page so everyone could see where the tours were and where there was room. The only suggestion I would make when arranging the tour is that you request a good English speaker. Our tour guide in Rome was way better to understand than the Florence one. Also, remember if someone or a couple drop out....you can either cancel or the group can decide to just absorb the extra cost. We had one woman who had to cancel because she broke her leg. We just decided as a group to go forward and it was little cost to all of us. Getting nearer to the cruise it's harder to another single or to start a new one. The company was great and we would recommend them !!!! I wish they were in AU/NZ for our cruise in November !!! ;)

  15. We just returned from a Med cruise and I used Shareashoreexcursionitaly for two of my tours. One in florence and one in rome. They are excellent!! Reasonable price also. In Rome our guide was Manny....request him as he speaks excellent english and went way out of his way to take us everywhere and special out of the way places and information. Have fun !!!
