  1. I just attached the same...we must have been posting at the same time. Carnival is starting to make some changes that really take away what we enjoy in a cruise. My hubby said it appears that Carnival is trying to be the more affordable "Disney".

Wouldn't say that--Disney maintains adult only areas, including a pool.

  2. Hi all!

I was wondering if anyone has experience bringing a young child (7) on a riverboat cruise. It seems every time I look into one, it's only a cabin for two people. Are there such things as a cabin for three? If so, on which line?

    Thanks!

Disney is doing river cruises and using AMA Waterways.

  3. John and I aren't letting any moss grow under our feet! We arrived in Pensacola, FL this morning just in time to watch the Blue Angels practice before meeting members of John's former squadron, the Red Rippers, for lunch. The reunion continues with activities through tomorrow evening at Margaritaville Beach Resort. The weather here is perfect [emoji267][emoji531][emoji483]382d89ef301ebf3a68cae3677dda6134.jpg85c7d956d52e79655cdff044efa55099.jpg

  4. That figures (on the weather). I guess I better not wear the sandals when we land - LOL. Can't extend the vacation - been away long enough. It figures we would have bad weather to greet us.

I saw the mention of lack of cruise logs prior to our cruise, but I thought that with the 30 day receiving theirs and with this being a longer "bucket list" cruise we would receive ours. Like Kathi,(Scrapnana), I will be making note of it in our survey. I have always kept them and enjoyed receiving them.

On our last day, with no cruise log and no On Location, I had to ask what time breakfast was being served:eek: After all, we could starve. :p;)

Send me an email with your address, Jacqui. I'll mail you my cruise log when we get back from the east coast. I don't plan on keeping it.

  5. I want to apologize to our Temarena excursion group. We got a tender ticket at 9:35 and I even told Leah we had a private tour at 10:30 and she said should be no problem. Long story short--our number was finally called at 11:30! By then it was so late we didn't even go. We had checked a couple of times while waiting, even went and asked in the Vista Lounge but they weren't willing to help. One time when I queried I was told NO tenders were running for more than 30 minutes but no one told them the reason. Hope you had a great tour and I hope we didn't keep you waiting too long.

  6. A big thank you to Gigianne for setting up the tour with Patrick. It was an awesome time with stops to meet stingrays and reef sharks, fabulous snorkeling (we had to be told it was time to move on), and an authentic lunch on a motu that belongs to Patrick's family. The weather turned out to be perfect! A fabulous day--and you can bet we'll sleep well tonight!

  7. Kazu. I'm on your tour tomorrow. I hope we have some time for a little Hawaiian shopping. I'd like to get some Kona coffee too. And I'm still on the hunt for that perfect muumuu.

There are lots of shops right by the pier with a variety of goods. Check out the ABC store for souvenirs. One of my favorite artists, Cindy Coates, has a shop right across from the pier. Check out her stuff. The Keahou Trolley stops at the pier and goes to several shopping stops nearby. It is $2 a ride.

  8. Plan to buy it in Kona. Hoping the price is a bit better than what I have seen so far on the Islands.

Is there a place where there is a better price by any chance? Thanks :)

There's always a truck just before you turn into the Costco parking lot selling Kona coffee. Pretty sure Costco sells it too. You do need a car to get there.

  9. Yesterday we walked to the Iolani Palace from the ship. We took the audio tour which was very interesting. I learned a lot of Hawaiian history. Today we rented a car and drove to the North Shore. We had hoped to snorkel at Shark's Cove but the wind came up and we decided the water was too rough. We drove back to the Dole Plantation and ordered Dole Whip, a treat that has very limited availability (pretty much here on Oahu and at Disney Parks). Next we decided to indulge ourselves with at visit to Aulani (Disney's resort at Ko Olina) It is a huge facility with lots of great activities. It was a fantasmic day!

So happy to return to working Internet!

  10. HALLELUJAH!!!! There be INTERNET!!!!!

The stupid ship moved the stupid beam for the stupid satellite and tried to tell us that the stupid internet didn't work because we were on IPads. NOT

Well, whateveer was wrong has hopefully been fixed for good. It was a day and 1/2 at least that it wouldn't c0 -operate.

Very frustrating as you waited for it to load and then couldn't reach the server. First time I've seen an issue this bad. Looks like all of our complaints kept them working on it and hopefully, it is here to stay.

We've had a busy couple of days and I have to check to see where I left off and may just work backwards - LOL.

Aloha from Honolulu. On day two.

Have my fingers--and toes crossed! Enjoy the day--aloha!

  11. We're docked now,at Pier 2, and Internet seems to be better. Maybe some people have logged off? Looks like it will be a nice day. I think we will check in and get our hop on tickets, can't decide if we will use them both days, but I think the 2-day price of $35 was pretty good. We have to be back at the ship well before 3, to join Jacqui et al for our evening luau.

Even docked we're still getting very limited internet from the ship. It's been almost 36 hours! Just Facebook and some Google/Bing searches (but it won't connect from the search!). Very glad we can connect to our mobile provider right now! Hope this doesn't continue.

John and I walked to the Iolani Palace today also. It's an easy walk from the pier. We did the audio tour and found it very interesting. We've been to Honolulu many times but had never visited the palace before. So glad we did! We learned so much!

  13. I heard from Jacqui and she is having problems getting on to CC, so I assume that's why we haven't heard anything from the roll call since much earlier today. Either that or they are just too darn busy with all the activities onboard right now. Decisions, decisions, what to go to.:D

I've been struggling with the CC app and my email but FB has continued to work. This morning I deleted and then reloaded the app and it is working although I have my regular cellular service now as we're sailing along the coast of Oahu. We have been extremely busy with all the wonderful activities and lectures on board! I told my daughter that we need sport to rest up [emoji6]
