there was a box to be checked regarding payment on board and asking for your credit card number. I believe directly above that was a box to check off for "cash account".

we booked in May 2014 and now it's finally only 46 days until we're in Venice and boarding Splendour of the Seas.

we just purchased $454.00 US for $499.40 Cdn. I think each agent must have their own way of doing things. I'd asked for $499.00US but she said it had to amount to $499.00Cdn. for processing but that we could call back and order more.

You are so right! Will look into the tours that you took. Thank you.

thanks for your review. We'll be on the same ship and itinerary in Sept. so it was most helpful. Haven't booked any tours yet. Was thinking of doing a private tour in Athens but might wait now to see what happens there in the next little while. Perhaps a ship tour would be better. I know that you booked private tours in Kotor and Corfu. Do you think it's feasible to just do our own thing when we arrive in port. Usually we prebook but this time have not done so.

Moremajor, when we did a Baltic cruise in 2012 we took a small amount of rubles with us. We pre-purchased them at Continental Currency Exchange (at the moment they give "seniors" a discount on Mondays if you qualify as such).
Georgiacat, we also used Alla Tours and tipped our tour guide in USD.
Have a great trip!

So glad you're back Cath! Those photos are fabulous!! Just what we've come to expect from you. We're going on the Splendour out of Venice Sept. 19th and Kotor is our 1st stop. After reading your review, we can't wait.

totally enjoying it all! Your photos are amazing-such detail; and you have a great writing style. Looking forward to the next 14 days of your trip.

So enjoying your trip Melissa, and now you're in Venice our most favourite city in the world. We did a 7 night return trip out of Venice on the Splendour 5 yrs. ago & have booked again for next year with 7 nights to follow in Venice itself. Your photos bring back such great memories-so glad that the sun came out for the sail in. Love your writing style and desperately looking forward to reading more. Thank you so much for all the time you're putting into this review-hope you're enjoying reliving this wonderful trip as much as your fans who are "experiencing" it for the first time.

thanks for pointing that out. We weren't planning on prebooking, but good to know we wouldn't have been able to.

we are booked for a Mediterranean cruise Sept., 2015 and received an e-mail this week encouraging us to prebook 3 or more reservations in specialty restaurants and receive an onboard credit. For 3 reservations-20% of the value, 4-25% of the value, and 5+ 30% of the value of the reservations in onboard credit. Also if specialty dining is booked for the 1st cruise day, then you would receive 20% of the value of the reservation in onboard credit.

My husband rented a tuxedo on a Celebrity ship, & found it to be a very good deal. He received it the first day & had it for the duration of the cruise. The jacket was too large so the room steward took it to the tailor to be fixed. This was done very quickly. Also the shoes, were the wrong size but they were also replaced without a problem.
