thanks for your feedback Twin but you didn't answer my question.

How difficult is it? I've done a couple of drift snorkels i'm 65 yrs. old not in good shape but never had any problems. Yet this one claims to be extra difficult. Even though drift snorkels are current driven and have a boat nearby they claim you must be in very good shape. Is there something about this one that makes for tough going? The current carries you anyway. I'd love to hear some feedback.

My wife and I will be cruising in FP mid Oct. this year and was wondering if we had to book snorkel tours in advance on Rangiroa and Raiatea. We'll be on the pacific Princess, less than 700 passengers, if that makes a difference.

you're right. I'll change it.

I noticed all the certified whale watching tours are on Wed. or Sun. aft. Are there any independant operators who will take you out when your ship docks in the am.
My wife and I will be arriving on Thur Apr. 23rd and was wondering about that.
Since we're arriving late in the season will there actually be any whales too see?
Is there anything to do in Dominica besides the whales and the champagne snorkel that doesn't require hiking?

I notice that all the certified whale watching tours are on wed. and Sun. aft.
My wife and I are arriving by cruise ship on a thur. mid April, will there be local boats willing to take us out that day or does it have to be on Wed. or Sun.
Also seeing as its later in the season, April 23, will there be any whales to see?
Other than the whales or Champagne snorkeling is there anything else to see in
Dominica that doesn't require hiking?

Hi,My wife and I am in the process of booking a caribbean cruise for April this year and we are avid snorkelers. Having snorkelled in about 1/3 of the places all over the world. We know good snorkeling from bad.The question I have for those who know, which area in the caribbean would be the best? We have snorkelled some in the caribbean, including, Roatan, Belize, St. Thomas, Grand Turk
and this time we are close to booking a southeastern trip with Celebrity that include Barbadoes, St. Kitts, St. Martens and Dominica and meets all our other requirements that we like in a ship. Would those stops have enough good snorkeling, doesn't have to be the best just good enough that we're not disappointed with the trip. Or should we look for a cruise that goes further south to Bonaire, Curacao and St. Lucia. I know those would be preferable but doing that itinerary would take quite a bit of doing.

Is it possible to do see the caves, monkeys and snorkel in 1 day with a tour? Coming to Barbados with Celebrity cruise.

We've cruised a few times but never to Tahiti and was planning to go in early 2015, maybe March or April. I'd like to get some feedback on which cruise line to take. I'm thinking either Princess or Oceania for 10 days. Most of their ships that go through there are about the same size I believe about 12-1300 passengers which sounds like a good number. My wife and I aren't partyers but we would like some good entertainment and of course food is a priority and service. We have cruised Princess before to Alaska and liked that ship but it was about 13 or 14 years ago. I've ruled out Paul Gaugain, probably too small for our liking and honestly too expensive when air is factored in.
I know both those lines are limited in their sailings to F.P. but I'll work around that.

I bought a Canon D20 and used it a lot on my last 2 snorkelling trips, and it was by far the best underwater camera I've used.
Not only does this take great underwater pics and movies, but the land pictures are excellent too. I didn't even take my good land camera on my last trip.
This is a great camera, and as long as you rinse it out with fresh water after each use then dry it real good before you open it, then dry the seals inside, it should last a long time. Just make sure you don't get any water inside the camera.
I understand they came out with a D30 but I really don't know how they could improve on the D20.

Drowning can happen in an inch of water and only takes seconds for it to happen.
Lets not get ridiculous Cathy. The only way that could happen is if the child drank the water and it saturated his brain.

Thanks for the review Hoopster. Doing a 7 day w. Caribbean next week on Navigator and was wondering if you think I'll have any problem making specialty rest. reservations onboard? I know I may have to be flexible with the time and/or day.

Thanks again, Yes I meant Rangiroa. I think I'll stick to the aquarium.
