  1. Hi all, we're booked on the Breeze in an inside spa stateroom on the spa deck. the three inside cabins on that deck have their doors on one of the long walls instead of the short walls, but the carnival website just gives the layout info for the regular room orientation. Does anyone know where the door happens to be situated in these rooms? Thanks!

This gal had a Spa inside with the door on the long wall.

She has pictures posted in her review. I think around page 3 she has them posted.

  2. I am trying to avoid the 20 hour round trip drive to/from Jacksonville. I can find good airfare from JAX to either BWI or DCA. But getting to JAX by air is too expensive for us. I will only fly a direct flight the day of sailing & the day before you have the hotel cost also.

So has anyone taken Amtrak? If so how was it?

This would be an 11.5 hour trip by train. I have no idea about being on a train for that long. I haven't been on Amtrak since the 1970's.

But we would be in a car for 10 hrs if we drove. The other bonus is we fly back. No long drive home! Cost would be $200pp round trip for 4 of us. Would you do it?

Be sure to check the Special Rates tab including the Smart Fares.

There are many options for discounts that you may qualify for.

There use to be a train to your cruise port discount code but there was not one issued Carnival for 2013.

The above link shows various discounts for Amtrak.

  3. Oh, in addition, since your kids are underage, you will have to "assign" yourself or other adult in that room for booking reasons. FYI.

    This is not true.

    https://www.goccl.com/irman/bookccl/sections/minor.html

Guests Under the Age of 21 Traveling with Parents / Grandparents

Guests under the age of 13

Minors must be booked in the same stateroom as the Parents/Grandparents.

Do not suggest to the caller that they can switch staterooms once on board.

If the Parents/Grandparents insist on being booked with the minors in separate staterooms, the booking must be documented with the following: "parents #_____”. Note: If booked in separate staterooms, the minors must either be directly across the hall or the stateroom next door.

Minors may only be booked in a balcony stateroom with the Parents/Grandparents"; this also applies to connecting staterooms.

    Guests 13 - 17 years of age

Minors can be booked in separate staterooms, by up to 3 staterooms in between the minor stateroom and the Parents/Grandparents stateroom.

Minors age 13 may only be booked in a balcony stateroom with the Parents/Grandparents; this also applies to connecting staterooms.

Guests 18 years of age and older

Minors are not required to be booked within close proximity nor on the same deck as the Parents/Grandparents.

We should make every effort to assign staterooms nearby.

  4. per info on this link the breeze does have luggage express. I hope that is the case when we cruise in June!

Maybe by June they have things worked out.

This was as of Jan 1st.

    http://www.carnival.com/Funville/forums/p/253845/1313740.aspx

I just got off the Breeze and it was not available. They said it was because the folks who handle it are trying to work out the logistics with such a large amount of folks on the larger ship. They are hoping to offer it in the future so maybe by June it will be available.
  5. We are sailing on the Breeze out of Miami but flying Southwest into/out of Ft. Lauderdale. Our flight home is late, around 7PM.

Does anyone know if the Breeze/Southwest offer the Luggage Express program for situations like this?

    TIA

While Breeze is listed on the chart of LE eligible ships they have not yet implemented it yet. As of 2 weeks ago Breeze was NOT offering LE because they have not figured out the logistics yet for the amount of passengers.

Maybe by time of your cruise they will have it set up.

  7. If that is what you want..go for it. The cruiseline can't ask you if you are disabled so just lie if they want to move you...heck with any real disabled person who would like "spa access"...as long as you are getting what you want.

So you are saying that disabled persons should NOT be allowed to enjoy the Spa???

Seriously, do you even know anyone who lives in a wheelchair.

The spa is one of the best relievers for a disabled person. The Thalassotherapy Pool alone is worth them getting a spa cabin. Why else would the Spa be listed on the ADA deck plans.

  8. The whole point is that when we book a HC cabin we are sent a medical form to fill out and return.

When someone does have a form on fill they can be moved.

Not for how it really happens ... I call to book a HC cabin. There are none available.

They DO NOT automatically verify that a form is on file. We then have to jump through hoops getting transferred from one person to the next until finally we get someone to verify that the cabins are indeed needed or not.

Why should a C person have to go through this.

So, yes there are only 4 OV Spa cabins on the ship but there are also 1810 other cabins to choose from. HC cabins are limited to 35 on Breeze.

As far as saying once you paid for a cabin blah blah blah. Go read your cruise ticket contract Carnival does not guarantee any cabin you book and they can move you for any or no reason regardless if you booked a spa cabin or not. Do they?? No not usually but they can.

  9. They are the only OV Spa cabins and they are the only choice I have if I want a OV Spa cabin....

AND those cabins are 1 of ONLY 35 cabins available for a person in a wheel chair. Leaving 1810 other cabins available for people who do not need a wheelchair modified cabin.

Let your conscience be your guide.

In another thread You were also asking about several other category choices so they are not your only option.

  10. Which of these are better and why for 3 of us. 2 adults and 1 13 y/o

    Thank you.

11201 is modified for wheelchair users.

11202 is fully accessible for wheelchair users

So, IMHO neither would be good unless you have the need for a HC cabin.

Please do not rely on what Carnival says in the disclaimer that they will move you if a HC person needs the cabin.

If a HC cruiser needs the cabin and it is booked they will have to jump through hoops and aggravation trying to get Carnival to check if there is a need by the occupants.

  12. Hi- I have only done short 4 day cruises on Carnival. BOOHOO! And we are considering a longer 6-7 day cruise. The ships with Guys, Blue Iguana etc. seem like a lot of fun. Can anyone tell me which ships have them and/or where on carnival to look for those ships. Thanks
