  1. I’ve just had my re-booked cruise cancelled.  Original cruise was April and re-booked for the end of June. What can I say, I’m an optimist! 😄 When I re-booked, the second cruise was much lower in cost than originally booked cruise, so I received OBC for price difference in addition to OBC for re-booking.  At this point, I think I would like to get a full refund.  As my booking #’s changed from cruise to cruise, I’m concerned my original payment amount is not obvious.  Are all my reservations linked on Carnival’s end? I would hate to wait three months to receive, and then receive the wrong amount!

  2. I am on the May 9th, but I did see that $409 on May 6th and was very tempted to do a back to back, but in the end decided I really didn’t want to do Nassau twice...would rather check out Coco Cay on another sailing. Also, hubby would have to take an extra 3 days off work...so I passed. I had been checking the May 9th the whole time, and they never really came down.

  3. For what’s it worth...I was just notified that I won my bid to move from OV to balcony on a 3 night Harmony sailing in May.  I was happy with my ocean view, heck on a 3 nighter I would probably be content in a broom closet, but hubby was very disappointed I hadn’t initially booked a balcony ...so it will now be a little surprise! I had the e-mail for like 2 weeks before I even submitted a bid on a whim.  The lowest amount I could bid was $100pp...so $200.  I thought that was a little high for 3 nights, but I’m pretty sure they were at least that much, maybe more, when I first booked, so not over paying.  Also, for reference, my offer was submitted and accepted within a week.

  4. I am looking at the possibility of doing a back to back cruise.  The royal suite class has come down in price to make this a possibility for me.  I’m noticing, however, that the “ we pick” rooms are substantially higher than the “you pick” rooms.  If I do a mock booking, the only room I am guaranteed with letting them book is a junior suite gty.  I can pick my own jr. suite for much less.  I would hope that paying more for letting them to choose the room would result in an upgrade and not the same room I could have picked for much less. That would be very disappointing! Does anyone have any experience with this scenario? What was your outcome? Thanks!

  5. I guess I will be going against the grain of opinion here, but I was just not impressed with the Liberty. We did a 4 Day last month in a suite. This was our third Carnival cruise and least liked of the three (other two were on the Sunshine and Magic). While we have a fun time no matter what, it just appeared they were not keeping this ship up...just seemed more run down than any other ship we have been on, of the multiple cruise lines we have been on. Second, this ship felt quite a bit smaller than the Magic(which we loved). We have been on many smaller ships on other cruise lines, but for some reason just did not enjoy this size with Carnival. I will say, it did feel less crowded, though. Everything else was fine...staff, food, etc. Maybe staying in the suite, I just felt like I over payed for the experience I received.

  6. We have found it is worth it to us. We are not heavy drinkers, but do like to cut loose a bit on a cruise. We have done it both ways, and found we spend about the same per day either way, which is about $45-55pp day. We are generally “break even” drinkers. The most I will generally have in a day is 4...but I enjoy my drinks with premium alcohol and get the highest priced wine by the glass....so my drinks will end up being in the $11-13 range. I occasionally like to try new drinks I wouldn’t ordinarily order in case I may not like. I seem to always get served a couple of drinks that are not made to my liking, so it doesn’t hurt to abandon them. I enjoy the coffee at the coffee bar and will have 2 each morning. We enjoy bottled water at dinner, plus a Powerade or Coke Zero now and then. We also do not drink in Port. In the end, it is much more convenient to not have to haul on wine and soda, mix drinks in our room, etc. Even if we came up short a little each day, the convenience out weighs. Everyone’s cruising style is different though, so what makes sense for one person will not make sense for others.

  7. Sorry, I didn't. I thought I got everything, but the by the glass menu must have been separate somewhere. I popped in to look at the wine list, and my son was horrified that I was taking pictures of it while he was there and practically dragged me out LOL

:'):')...thanks for getting what you did. I never even think to take photos while cruising...then forget everything that was offered...lol

  8. I found a place on Trip advisor that I thought about checking out while we are there, so I can’t attest to how good it is. It’s called blue zone massage service...no website, just Facebook page. At Junkanoo beach, so walking distance to ships. Hope this helps!

  9. Really?

Yes...Really!! Did you even read the response the person I was responding to gave??? He told the poster that perhaps he should have gotten off the ship and demanded Carnival fly his party home from the next port if things were not perfect or as he remembered them to be. This is the response you should have saved your "Really?" for! Apparently, you missed the irony, so I will spell it out for you....if you are suggesting someone should get off the ship because of it not meeting your expectations and then go on to state you hate reading negative reviews...perhaps, this person could also save him/herself some heartache by not reading that which upsets them so much...like, move along:rolleyes:! Some of us don't mind reading.

  10. If it was so bad why did you not take advantage of the guarantee? I really hate when I see threads like this that everything was so horrible from the start that they did not just get off the ship.

If you really hate to see negative reviews, perhaps you should take your own advice and stop reading them and then perhaps not log on to cruise critic.

  11. I was thinking about posting something on this subject as well. I booked 2 nights at the steakhouse on our upcoming Magic cruise in Sept., and have received no confirmation thus far. I initially received an e-mail saying they could not accommodate the time I chose and to please respond if new time assignment would be ok. I did that twice and requested to please receive a confirmation. It's been 2-3wks now with no confirmation. I, also, requested the Italian restaurant for 2 nights and relieved that confirmation right away. At this point, just hoping the reservation will be there when I show up!

  12. Thanks for taking the time to review this excursion, I really appreciate it!....I would check back periodically to see if there was a response. I was considering an all inclusive because my husband enjoys to sail Hobie cats. The resort listed them as an amenity, but I couldn't find a photo or review here or at Trip advisor that confirmed that....even tried e-mailing the resort, but got no response. Also, Carnival listed several departure times, did you have a set amount of time there? I called Carnival, and the lady I spoke with said I would basically have 4 hrs. at the resort. I wouldn't be particularly happy leaving at 8:30 am on an excursion that involves partaking in adult beverages....I know I am on vacation, but that's even a bit early for me to start the day:')! If the beach wasn't that great on top of that, I think we'll just hang at the port or find something different. Thanks again!

  13. I have a beverage question for you. I'm contemplating getting the beverage package as it includes a bunch of non alcoholic options as well, however after extensive research I am unable to find if any of the vitamin waters, Powerade, or tea come in sugar free options. I did notice the rockstar energy drink in sugar free, but not interested in that. If my only diet options are soda and water, I may have to re-think package value for me. Also, do they offer drip coffee in the coffee shop? From the menus I have seen, it only appears to be sugar bomb lattes and frappes. Thanks so much for any info!
