  1. Thank you for the reply. Not much into fruity drinks so was seeing if they have jumped on this trend yet.  It is starting to get more popular I believe.  Some of the zero proof alcohols have a trace amount as well but it is the same amount that is in a ripe banana so hard to get away from any trace.  Same goes for gum for that matter since they have sugar alcohols.  Just trying to figure out how to get a bottle on the ship wihtout breaking the rules. 🙂

  2. Looking at booking another NCL cruise and I am curious if they offer zero proof whiskey, gin or vodka on the ships.  I have not drank for years but like to enjoy a "zero" drink when relaxing. If not is there any way I could request this if booking the Haven?  Thank you

  3. Currently booked in a BA mid ship balcony on deck 13 and I am being offered an upgrade to a B6 or an additional $110 in OBC.... What is the main differences in the room besides the larger balcony? Just curious if I should take the OBC or the room. TIA

  4. Last night I was going to pay to upgrade from a ocean view to a balcony cabin. When we first booked we got the 3rd person free. I was told that we would loose the 3rd person free if we upgraded as it was no longer offered. I was ok with that but then was told that I would have to pay full fare for the upgrade and was not allowed to get the new offer because we are past final payment. I decided not to upgrade. I am not sure if this is normal to take everything away .There are still 30 balconies left and we are 45 days out.

Sorry as this may be a silly question but how do you know how many cabins are available still? Looking at paying for an upgrade since we will be celebrating an anniversary but this would be good info. Thank you

  5. I would love to spoil my Lady and serve her breakfast in bed as a treat.

Does anyone know if O'Sheehans Will box breakfast up as take-out? I really like their menu and would love to surprise my wife with a couple of hot full breakfasts. She has put up with me for 37 years and deserves to be spoiled!

We are booked on the Jewel in May.

    Thanks for any info.

I am sure they would for breakfast. On our last cruise the family would be relaxing in the room after a long day and I would run down to O'Sheehans and grab our favorites off of the menu. Got to the point that they would help me carry the food because it took two trays. This was much appreciated and both times they were tipped very good. Great service and friendly people...

  6. We had two kids (tweens) at our table. One was willing to try anything once and enjoyed himself. The other refused to eat much of the meal and was semi-miserable during the event.

Since they were unable to drink the wine offered during the meal, they got virgin mixed drinks the whole night, one after another.

I'm not sure if they had any discount, but I wouldn't count on it.

  7. Going to be celebrating our anniversary on our December cruise and was thinking this would be great. Are kids allowed to join in at the chef's table or is it only for adults? If kids are allowed is it still $99 or is there a discount like other venues? Thanks for the help.

  8. Hi,

I just re-read my post and I said spa suite -- but what we have is a spa balcony -- so does that allow access to the Haven?

No access to the haven with the spa balcony. Your category has to start with an "S" in order to get Haven access.

  9. Our family loves this place but you have to take into account that they use a ton of butter to cook the steaks and rice which we are not used to. Next time we go I will have to start my workouts with a stick of butter so it is not such a shock to the system. :-)

  10. Can guests staying in balcony cabins have 'room service' - breakfast delivered to their rooms? We are sailing on Getaway 3.1.14 and cannot wait.

    Thanks!

If you are traveling with kids and want them to sleep in a bit you can also have them look at the O'Sheehan's menu before they go to bed and have them sleep in while you go grab the food in the morning. We did this a couple of days on our last cruise for something different than the limited menu for breakfast room service and it was great. Can't wait for the corned beef and hash with a made to order omelet. Don't worry if you will be able to carry all of the food either as they will be happy to help you get it to your room just make sure you tip them for going above and beyond his/her normal duties.

  11. If walkie talkies suit your fancy feel free to bring those, if you are worried about a few people being annoyed while you use them to stay in contact with your family get the wristwatch walkie talkies which have a plug in for headphones and a mic for talking. We used those on our last cruise and never ran into anyone that had a problem with us keeping in touch with our family.... Happy cruising!!
