  1. You stop by the casino when it is open and visit the table near the Cashier and a staff person will find your named card. Give to the casino drinks server with your order. DON'T FORGET to ask for your card back and check that it is your named card. I have seen the casino bartender manually listing the card drink orders. I never saw any record with my name on it, in fact, on one cruise, I received the wrong named card back and used it without any questions asked. Be prepared for fellow passenger comments on "why did you get this perk and not me when I spend..."

  2. Our September 2021 Alaska Cruise has not been cancelled but is iffy with the Canada announcement.

Seattle, Wash., Feb. 4, 2021 — We are disappointed to learn about Canada’s decision to extend the interim order that prohibits cruise ships from sailing in its waters and calling on Canadian ports through February 2022 (one year from now). This extension, if not amended as pandemic conditions improve, would require us to cancel our Alaska (West Coast) and Canada/New England (East Coast) cruise vacation seasons this year. Given the unexpected length of the order, it will take us some time to assess whether there are any options to preserve a portion of the 2021 Alaska season.

  3. Deliver42,

Have booked the September 18, 2021 Koningsdam sailing out of Vancouver.

Took the Veranda upgrade package. Missed the free gratuities but got the free wi-fi after calling our HAL cruise consultant. Looking for the free gratuities to be offered again.

Enjoy reading all of the pros/cons, sail/no-sail, into-not Canada and the odds makers.

Hoping for a Koningsdam sailing with 25% percent passengers and 100% crew. Ports with businesses wanting business and seeing fresh faces. Extra precautions with masks, sanitizing, reasonable distancing and dancing with the wife. Plus, cabin upgrades and $10.00 cabin upsells.

We are looking forward to our next DAM cruise!

  4. Rich and fellow cruisers,

In these days of the pandemic and cruises about ready to re-start,

I noticed that the Laundry Lists do not yet have a listing for "Mask" (price?).

Also, the gift shop with sundry items might carry Cruise Line-logo masks.

Trivia Game winning prize of a logo mask?

Bon Voyage Gift - logo mask 3 for $?

We use washable masks and launder them regularly.

Will be interesting to see the handout coming with your daily news at your cabin on the

first test cruise:  "Mask Wearing Policy of (insert cruise line) and Special Notes From (insert cruise ship).

    Suggest they invest in these.

We use washable masks and change them out regularly

and put them in the laundry.

Would be interesting to note for the test cruises coming up.

  6. I called Ship Services to Reserve the offered Pinnacle Grill in my Explore 4 offer and was told the reservation is made by the staff ahead of time and you must attend that day/time only.

I went back to the Explore 4 web screen and linked to the Terms and Conditions and read the official wording for it and the other items. Note no chance for random drawing for a Le Cirque night!!!

You will receive the reservation in your cabin on your embarkation day.

I have always enjoyed the Pinnacle Grill dining experience, and look forward to our surprise day and time.

  7. 1st on your to-do list is to say hello to the Neptune concierge and give your name(s). Tell how much you like the... suite, ship, lounge, crew so far, etc. You will instantly be a part of her family!

There will probably be a line of people with requests for the concierge, but put the meet and greet as a priority.

Use the tray under the ice bucket to carry those snacks and cups back to your suite from the Neptune.

If you are low on ice and no room steward around, just take the ice bucket to the concierge and she'll bring it back to your suite for you.

Do make an effort to attend the suite passengers cocktail party, just to say hello to the staff who make a special effort to attend. You will see them around the ship and they like to be recognized too.

Wife and I on the Oosterdam Dec. 26 and will use the Neptune alot.
