  1. Did you tip do this on your Travel Scoot too Or are you just quoting Jack ?? I have a hard time grasping these quotes thingys sometimes ??

I am sorry for Jack Retired you too ! This was from the Tip on your last Cruise ?

Yikes the more I hear the more I know that until I get really good at riding my Lil Scoot I will be walking all bumps .....Yikes !

Merry Christmas to All and to All a Goodnight !

  2. Does any one have any suggestions about riding down a steep Jetway or riding up one which presents another set of problems .....Like when you hit those bumps where the jetway is connected and becomes even steeper ~ Yikes !!

Also does the Scoot have enough Oomph to go up those steep Jetways ?? I am not exactly a Petite Flower :-)

I'm getting nervous as I have only be on my Travelscoot a couple of times ! I think leaning forward going uphill and leaning back going down hill makes sense to change the center of gravity but the big bumps on the Jet ways might cause a tip .....I have no problem just puting my foot down to catch myself if the Scoot tips but, I'm starting to think I might want to just get off it and walk it over those Bumpy things !

I already know NOT to ride it off and on the ship and to let staff carry it off, Thanks to everyone on this Board ~

It's the Gate check that has me nervous !

I'm sure once we get a routine down and we have done it a few times it won't be so ominus ! It's a lot of trial and hopefully not to much error~LOL

  3. Thank you so much Again my Yep, DH was afraid if he really pushed hard he would break the cables. Finally with your encouragement he really put some pressure on it and Bingo it was locked.

So he was being just a little toooo timid on those dang buttons, As you say one, really has to put the pressure to it.

I have artherits in both my thumbs, which makes it very difficult for me to do .....As long as DH is in the vincinity then he will be able to do it !

Honestly we have never needed to lock it before. We just have it riding in the back of our car.Now we are trying to learn everything we need to know about my Lil Scoot before our cruise.

I also want to say that we put in a call to the Travel Scoot distributor in WA state yesterday evening. They called us back this AM and they said don't be afraid to put pressure on the Scoot they are built very, very well. So for anyone else who has any questions don't be afarid to call they are very eager to help

Thanks for the Duffle Bag Info ~ We will be Gate Checking this time so we will NOT take the duffle bag , If and when we go on our European Cruise we willbuy a Golf Bag and Check it just as you folks have done ! Thanks for being Trail Blazers for the rest of us :-)

Cotatica ~ Your Cruise sounds wonderful and we will all be waiting to hear how you and your little Scoot did :-)

I almost feel like I need a name for mine .....How about "Sally Scooter" LOL

I still have 13 days before we leave so I may be back on her again :-)

Merry Christmas to all and Best wishes for the coming New Year !

  4. Hello Mobilty Scooter Travelers !

Well I am on the countdown to my first trip with my Travel Scoot !

I think we have all the particulars worked out but I have one more question ....

    Ok Maybe 2 :-)

#1~We can Not figure out how to Lock the wheels so that when we give it to the guy at the gate it won't roll all around in the Cargo hold ....Yikes ! DH says he has read the instructions several times ....squeeze the hand brakes and press the spring bolt in but that does not seem to work on my Scoot ......Any suggestions ? I wonder if we have something defective ? We may just call the TS guy in WA if we can't figure out how to lock it ?

#2~ Would there be any reason for us to take the TS Duffle bag the big one that the Travel Scoot fits in? I fear if we don't take it we will need it but it is sooo bulky what do ya'll do. I am of course taking the battery bag :-)

I will post my first time experiences with my little scoot when we get back sometime after the 7th of Jan.

Thanks again for all your help on this thread you all are Awesome !

  5. RLM77~ Wow thank you for all your insight !

I am so afraid not to protect that Scooter I do realize they door check the baby strollers and car seats and they always arrive in good shape for the families as they deplane ! It makes me wonder IF they stick all these gate/door checked items in a different hold than the regular luggage for safe keeping.

So You are saying you just get off the Scoot and take off the Battery and pass your Scoot off to the handlers ! Do you use the Protective cover they provided that goes over the gears and handle bars that came with the Scoot or the Battery bag or do you just not even mess with that either ?

Wow! That would certainly streamline things soooo much for everyone but especially DH. I guess I just need to get one round trip under my belt so I can see that the airlines will bring me back my Travel Scoot and it won't be in 50 pieces.... LOL

Humm then I just might not go out and buy a hard golf bag for mine. Perhaps if I was checking it for an overseas flight I might still condider the golf bag.

Thanks again for all the details .....I love details :-)

Everyone is always so helpful on this board .....I hope someday I can pay it forward.

  6. Good Evening Travelscoot Fans ,

I guess I will address this to "Katisdale" since you folks have had your Travelscoot about the longest of any of us :-) But everyone else jump in too with your experiences with flying with your Scoot !

I am now the proud owner of 2012 shiny chrome Travelscoot. I bought it based on the wonderful reviews I read on this site and read everything you folks and many others wrote many times before we decided to take the plunge :-)

I love my Scoot, it has made my husbands life sooo much easier, not to mention mine, since I am the one who uses it. However DH is the one who muscles it in and out of the car, It's soo light I'm sure I can do it too. It rides in the back of our car and it is "peace of mind" for me IF I need it ! I only use it for long shopping trips like to a Mall or Lowes etc. and of course the main reason is for Cruising and Travel.

We are getting ready for our first cruise with our little Scoot for New Years ! I am anxsting over checking my Baby ;-( We hear nightmares of lost luggage everytime we cruise ;-O I feel like the lady from Vegas who warmed her battery for 3 days with blankets, before she charged it...... I am very protective of my Scoot.

Right now my plan is to ride my Scoot down the Jetway and then my DH will disassemble it at the door and put it in a Golf Bag and he will hand it to the Baggage Handler. Oh just saying that makes me nervous. We have the Lithium Battery and the little Travel bag to take the battery on board with us .....Have you ever had any problems getting the battery aboard ?

#1-Have you ever door checked yours at the end of the Jetway ? #2- Do you label your golf bag with a tag that says Mobility Scooter or do they ? #3- What kind of golf bag did you get ? Does it have wheels? Does the seat back actually fit in the Hard Golf Bag too ? #4-Do you reassemble it right outside the Jet door, or wait and go up the Jetway before reassembling.

My husband thinks he wants to practice sort of like a NASCAR Pit Crew and get the Scoot assembled and Disassembled in about 3 min. He wants to practice while I hold the stop watch LOL.

Thank You for your Help and any reassurance you can send my way, that my Scoot will not be harmed :-) Any hints or tips will be greatly appreciated

    Thank You,

    Joanne- Proud Scoot Owner
