Thank you, I did see that but then on another social media outlet someone said that they were in one of the cabins and it did not.  I'm hoping they were confused!

Good luck!!  Maybe someone in one of those cabins will see this and answer you.

We have an upcoming cruise in these 2 rooms with our children. The deck plan looks like the balconies connect but somebody's comments  indicated that they did not.
    Does anyone have firsthand knowledge?

If you look on the Edge class cabin compilation, someone states they do connect

Glad you had good service in a trying situation.

Just curious: would you have really been allowed on a plane the same day that you had just tested positive?

I tested positive on a sea day and was told that I would be able to leave to take a flight home on day 5.  Since I waited to test on that day, it was too late to disembark that day and the next stop did not have anything that looked inviting.

I also would have felt guilty if I exposed anyone on the planes I would have been flying or in airports, etc

You are a positive person for sure.  I could not have done it!

On another note, do you have any comments on your Single Infinite Veranda cabin?  My friend is in that room type next Summer when we go on APEX and I would love to hear what you thought.

The room is fine for one person.  A little tight on storage space but adequate.  The Infinite Veranda is really an area near a very large opening window, but especially in cooler climates was wonderful.   It was nice to sit and eat breakfast while watching docking.   I really did not spend a lot of time in the cabin.

  5. I was on the B2B on Apex beginning June 19.  From June 19 to 26 we were in Norway.  June 26 was Iceland and Ireland.  On June 25 all of us doing the B2B were tested and I was negative.  On Sunday, June 26 I became extremely fatigued and tested myself.  Positive for Covid.  I called the medical department and since it was late, they said they would be by in the morning to test me(PCR) and I should stay in my room until then.

The next morning I tested positive and I was moved from my individual Infinite Veranda room on deck 6 to an ocean view on deck 3.  I had not been in an oceanview room before and found the window to be larger than I expected.  The room was also bigger.

I was told I had to stay in my room, (they did not give me a key) but I could order room service from all main dining rooms and the breakfast menu was the upgraded room service menu.  A Covid concierge checked up on my several times a day as did other guest services personnel.  Room service was great!  They came when they said they would and readily fixed any mistakes made (forgot something)

I was tested again on Day 5 but was positive.  At that point, I could have left the ship but the timing was such that arrangements would not have been able to be made to get me home. (I am not sure I would have wanted to expose others, anyway)

Day 6 was again a positive test.  Guest relations looked into options for leaving the ship on day 7 in Belfast.  Again that would not work.  The only flight would have left before we docked and it was a 30 hour flight at that.

    Day 7 Positive

    Day 8 Negative!!

Day 9 Negative and released from isolation.  I was moved back to my original cabin and allowed to go ashore.  I was asked to stay masked and not eat in the restaurants that day.  After taking a walk ashore, I returned to the ship.  I went to the buffet, masked, and took food to my room.  Later, I returned to the buffet and ate outside not near anyone.

Day 10 was the last sea day and I was free to do anything I wanted on the ship.  Everyone was being asked to wear masks while inside except when eating and drinking.

We disembarked the following day.  I was in isolation for 9 of the 12 day cruise.  Not great but not as bad as some have made it sound.   No, there was no fresh air and I was unable to get any exercise (ten steps covered the length of the room), but I could sit and knit or read while watching the ocean.  Very peaceful.  When at port, I was able to people watch everyone getting on/off the ship.  Saw one woman running to catch the ship just before sailaway and also watched them disassemble the gangplank when it became too steep to use.

While it is never fun to be in isolation and I certainly missed seeing Iceland and Ireland, but I was very well treated.

  6. It is very interesting that no two of the cruises this summer that had the same original itinerary now has the same. The June 26 cruise has a sea day replacing Dublin and Waterford replacing Cobh.  We do not get Liverpool or Ringaskiddy.
just observing that it seems to have definitely been “last minute “ rearranging or we would all be the same

We are booked on a Celebrity Cruise to Iceland in June 2022.  Just starting to look at excursions.   I noticed two excursions that go to Siflufjorur from the Akureyri port stop.   They are really expense ($500 for a 6 hour excursion).   Has anyone done this, is it worth it?   Why the steep price?.   I would imagine this is a bus ride although the description of the excursion doesn't really say much.   Thank you.

Which cruise are you on? I am on June 26 and also looking for excursions at Akureyri.  I have signed up for the Golden Circle & thermal bakery with Celebrity in Reyjkavik, but looking at a couple of options through Tours by Locals in Akureyri

  8. Be careful if trying to upgrade online.   They often will charge you the $69 price instead of the upgrade.  Call to upgrade and then you can ask about whether the other has to upgrade.  Also, have the other person who does not drink check the non-alcoholic premium drinks list.  It may pay to upgrade them too so so they can have the coffee, juices, etc.
