  1. We are thinking of cruising on the Scenic Spirit next year on the Mekong Cruise can any fellow cruisers give me their thoughts we have only done the Douro before but many other cruises with small ships.

    thank you.

  2. We are booked on the Nautica from Dubai to Singapore, I have read on cruise critic that Oceania will sort the visa on board, as we are calling in to several ports that require a visa, I would like to get confirmation from Oceania so does anyone have their email please.

  3. Can anyone help,we have tried and tried to log in to our account to book our excursions but cannot find our account anywhere,we have done many cruises with Azamara and sadly feel it will be our last with them can’t stand all this hassle.

    Thankyou.

  4. Having just got off on a on a 37day cruise on the western coast and east coast of South of South Africa I have to say that Azamara included wines are not good the French Sauvignon Blanc is so acidic, they are buying cheap and putting there logo on the bottle, Avoid.

  5. We are sailing on Journey at the end of this month, is it correct that I can only book the specialty restaurants onboard, we live in the UK so I am not phoning Azamara In the US, any help would be appreciated.

  6. Already contacted our agent about this, they  are contacting Azamara, also about the Azamazing evening we were onboard Persuit two weeks ago and was told that as from 11th November the Azamazing evening will be ashore and that was for all ships, what’s going on?

Others besides the November 29 roll call members might be interested in knowing that Azamara just cancelled two ports on its Western Africa (Nov 29) cruise.

    Azamara email on Oct 26:

"Port authorities in Senegal and Ivory Coast have advised that their ports will remain closed to cruise ships due to their COVID-19 protocols. Therefore, we will now call in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria and have an additional sea day. By adding a day at sea, we were able extend our time in Banjul, now departing at 5:00 p.m.

I'm quite disappointed that we lose 2 of the 7 continental Africa ports - the main reason I chose this cruise. I know the loss is outside Azamara's control, but I wish they could have come up with a better substitute than a Spanish port and a day at sea. For example, Cape Verde Islands and/or possibly Togo or Benin. I'm not sure whether this will affect the March 4 Western Africa cruise.

We are also on this cruise and are very disappointed,we understand that it is out of Azamara’s hands but unless I have read it wrong Senegal has been closed to cruise ships since  19th March 2020 and The Ivory since October 2022, if this is the case could Azamara rearranged something better than places in Spain where we have been on numerous occasions.

  8. We are also going on the South African Cruise in November this year and are getting nowhere with questions about visas, can anyone answer the question are Azamara providing the visas if you take an excursion through them, if we have to go down the route of getting our own I feel it should have been pointed out as to pay the full price for a visa when we will be in port for less than 24th is ridiculous, if anyone has been given information from Azamara please post a message, also the visa company Azamara recommends can’t even advise when the ship is in port for such a short time.

  9. Hi Robsaw, we are also on this cruise, iv been trying for quite a while to get an answer, ( we are from the uk), there are ports of call that I can’t get any answers to from Azamara ( even if I can actually talk to someone) concerning if we have to get a visa just to do ports of call which means in most cases less than 24 hours, please can someone advise about visas just to do an excursion , does Azamara  provide them if you book an excursion with them.  Come Azamara give us an answer please.

  11. Hi we are on the 11th March sailing from Portugal to the canaries, we are uk residents so do not need a test to enter Portugal and obviously we are fully vaccinated,my question is  the seabourn website is so confusing do we have to provide a negative test ( before we board) at our expense or not  as they also test in the dock or is the problem that seabourn’s website is not up to date, it’s now getting ridiculous.

I wouldn't spend two minutes in Dover.  It has a great castle, the famous Vera Lynn cliffs and 1000s of migrants  but you will see all that from the ship.  The train station is quite a long walk from the port.  We landed back here on the Ovation and organised a car to take us to Heathrow where we had left our car.

You might be better off staying in London but the best sort-of-nearby hotel choice would be Gravetye Manor - the perfect classic country house hotel and ideal for a pre-cruise stay, especially if you fly in to Gatwick.  It's still an hour's drive from Dover.  However, a taxi would be easy to arrange.  Canterbury is another dump and in August overrun with tourists assuming we are back to normal by then.

  13. Hi we are flying from Heathrow on the 24th October with Virgin, are there any other UK cruisers leaving on that day, interested to hear how you are finding the minefield of testing both pre and post cruise, we have cruised with Seabourn before.
