  1. Two weeks ago I had breast cancer surgery. I spoke with my surgeon about the cruise and he said it would be ok to cruise. It was probably the best cruise ever because I was able to not think about the next part of my treatment that I will need after the cruise. This is our 18th cruise and we decided to have a little fun so we picked up some costumes and customized them. Here is one of the pictures with my brother and my husband. :)

  2. I believe the Bear Creek zipline is more family friendly than the Rainforest Canopy. Check out Alaska Canopy Adventures. They have a video and quite a bit of information. We are going with our two kids 16 & 18 and have booked the Rainforest Canopy adventure. None of us have ever ziplined before.

  3. Super excited (and nervous) We booked Rainforest Canopy Ziplining in Ketchikan for this summer. In my research it sounds like it the highest one in Ketchikan. They have another one called Bear Creek which is billed as being good for families.

  4. We are in our 40s and have been in Skagway many times. We have been to the graveyard, walked around town, taken the White Pass Railway, rented our own car and done the jeep excursion. The jeep excursion was by far our favorite. As a matter of fact, we are going again this summer and have already booked it for a second time. On the excursion you drive into the Yukon and end up at a city called Carcross. There are several jeeps that drive in tandem and you can either drive or go as a passenger. They hooked it so that the tour guide could talk to all of the jeeps through the speakers. We drove off-road to a beautiful spot and were able to try some unusual Alaskan food. Last time we went, we spotted a bear.

  5. First of all, a little about us. We are 40 something and have been on about 20 cruises. Our destinations have been Alaska, Panama Canal, Mexico and the Caribbean. For the past few years, our cruise highlights have been our family videos. Each cruise has a video which is planned months before the trip. My husband is very good at putting it all together and gets better with each video. Here is one of his earlier videos. He doesn't normally put them online but this one was shared with his family.

Last year included switching mouths from singers (a trick he saw on Jimmy Fallon) and fun hand puppets. Most of our videos include crew members and other passengers.

This year we are heading to Alaska and he has been spending countless hours planning for the video. He has come up with 10 songs including classics like Ain't No Mountain High Enough, A Thousand Miles and Come and Get Your Love. Our kids are now in high school or college and the cool thing is watching them grow up from the videos. They also help with creation of animations and graphics.

Anyway, I thought I would share with you our vacation planning. We are going to bring two GoPros on this one for some of our excursions for some cool footage.

Super excited. Thank you to everyone on this board who posts such great information.
