  1. We made appointments through the link on the Princess website.  DocGo required payment when we made the appt.

    Well... testing at the Port was fairly easy, if somewhat disorganized.  All went well and our tests were negative, thank goodness.  BUT when we checked our shipboard account the next morning, we found we were each charged for 2 tests@ $100 each!!!  Luckily, I had a copy of our receipt, and Guest Services removed the $400 from our account.  So buyer beware.  Make sure you have documentation, and you'll be fine.  Be sure to check your account for discrepancies. 

     

    Also, hold on to your luggage until you get your negative results.  Once they take your luggage onboard, if you test positive, it's practically impossible to get it back.

    Per Princess, the "testing cost" is $100.   

    So maybe they're charging people the $100 nonrefundable charge to their onboard account PLUS (for no shows) the $100 testing cost  ??

    Due to snow/ice forecast we're leaving VA on Sat, so had to cancel CVS testing on Mon.  We booked tests with DocGo and our credit card was charged at booking.  I sure hope Princess doesn't also charge our onboard account, as stated on the Princess website.

    We always get insurance.  Haven't needed until the last two cruises and then it came in very handy.  We use CSA and have been very satisfied with their claims process.  If you are of the age, Medicare does not cover you out of country so you have to have something.  

     

    Some Medicare Advantage policies cover basic emergency care out of the country, but it's limited and without medivac coverage.  We always get insurance because if you need it, it's there.

     

     

  4. Can anyone who's been on recent Anthem of the Seas cruise tell me what is acceptable men's formal attire in the main dining room? Is it suits, jacket and tie or can you get by with a dress shirt, dress pants and tie? My husband has always gone the dark suit route on previous cruises, but was hoping to not have to take a suit or jacket this time. I know on other RCI ships we have seen less than tuxes, suits. Since previously main dining called for formal EVERY night, I wondered how strictly they observe the dress code.

  5. Hell, I don't care if people want to come naked even if 99% of naked people look much better clothed :p

     

     

    Recently (last month) on Celebrity Equinox we saw a couple of men barefoot, swim trunks, no shirt in the Buffet line. Not only is there a prominent sign about no bathing suits and shirts/shoes must be worn, but these 2 men should have definitely been clothed... lots of clothes. Ick. I guess the staff doesn't want complaints lodged.

  6. I agree. On our first Celebrity cruise my husband contracted a virus several days into the cruise - not norovirus but with somewhat similar symptoms. He was confined to the room and missed all but our first excursion. Because his symptoms weren't getting better they did extensive blood tests to try to determine treatment. There were no charges to us for treatment, Dr fees or meds. The insurance refunded not only his excursion charges but mine as well. There was no hassle. I'll definitely use them again.
