  1. The casino no longer provide the tournament entrance fee discounts they use to give to Diamond and higher C&A members. We didn't have this tournament entrance fee discount on the D+ benefits letters we got in our cabin on the cruises we did last and this year on Vision and Anthem. I asked about it when getting our free slot spin tokens from the casino cashier on one of those cruises and was told it was no longer being offered as an C&A benefit. :(

We got our free slot spin tokens on the Vision this past May.

  2. Would there be any demographic information for the cruise ships? Trying to determine the best itinerary for our next trip. i know depending on the time of year could change things up.

Why don't you first choose the itinerary you really want and go from there. We have been on many cruises with multiple "demographics" and always had a good time. In fact we were seated in the MDR with a World War II veteran and had a wonderful time. He told us many great stories about serving in France. Don't worry so much, a cruise is what you make of it.

  3. We just returned from a transatlantic on board the Serenade. There were so many Diamond guests that the Safari Lounge was private for Diamond members between 5:30 and 8:30. There is a "special" drink menu for this happy hour. In other words, no Absolute vodka or top shelf alcohol, But the bartenders get creative and can make a great chocolate martini. :D

  4. My friend and I took this tour from the Ruby Princess last fall. Unfortunately, we didn't have such great weather as most of the climb was moist and foggy. We thought it was going to be an easy climb...Like you said, "What's a 1,000 feet"! Wrong! But it was so worth it. I can't remember the excursion cost but we did visit the cameo shop and Pompeii. Must be a "cruise ship" package excursion.

    Love your review...keep it coming!

  5. We are cruising on the AOS out of Southampton to the Canary Islands the end of September this year. So looking forward to this "bucket list" cruise. This will be our 18th cruise, but not just on Royal..Carnival and Princess too. The food and the entertainment are not our top priority in cruising, it's the ports and the adventure of seeing new places and making new friends around the world.

So, stop complaining and just appreciate that you can afford to cruise.

  6. We were on the " Allure" last Spring and during the Q & A, we asked the question about life jackets in our cabin and were told that the ship had one for each passenger assigned to that particular muster station. Out of 18 cruises, this was the first that we didn't get a one in our cabin. Maybe to some people it's no big deal, but to us it was.

  7. We are sailing on the Adventure of the Seas on September 28. Although I didn't get any promo e-mail from Royal, I just checked the Royal website to see what the difference in price was from the first time we booked. Today I went down to see my TA and she called Royal. We received $600. EACH off our cruise. How fantastic is that? We didn't have to rebook and we could keep our same cabin.

What a way to start the summer! Yipee!
