We (other half and I) intend to have a trip to the Carribean next year and had intended (obviously) to go on Navigator however whatever the cause of the problem, I don't want brown water so with regard to this and all the other problems (perceived or real) with Navigator it looks like we'll be going with Oceania although we've been entirely satisfied with Voyager and Mariner.
Shame really, like TC I'd rather cruise with the egalitarian Regent rather than lines where "the people in the cheap cabins clap their hands and those in the expensive cabins rattle their jewellry! (sic)"

Why do you feel Sette Mari is "ill conceived?"
Certainly it wasn't explained properly to us but once we got it into our heads that it's both a buffet and an a la carte restaurant in the same space, we found it fine.
Not only that, it has the best table for two on Voyager.
Additionallythe food (especially the fish stew) is awesome other than the lasagne I was served one night which was nowhere near as good as I'd get in my favourite corner caff.

Have to stick up for TC here. I would say she's sufficiently dispassionate in her posting above to not warrant a rebuke. In any case TC is a lady of strong opinions which livens up the board and as far as I'm concerned she's more than welcome to express them!
As regards smoking, I've been on Voyager and Mariner and I would say "smokers' corner" is in a better location on Mariner. Occasionally there's some "leakage" into the lobby on Voyager.
Smoking is a deal breaker for me otherwise I'd feel inclined to try Seabourne who's product looks similar to that of Regent.

Having "gone thro' the entire bar list" TC I hope your head doesn't hurt this morning....

Looks like a wonderful dinner. I'd be jealous were it not that I'll be just as well fed at home....

I'm not bothered abput internet access when I'm on the boat apart from needing to print off boarding passes on the last day and I'd be very cross indeed if I had to queue. Let's hope the improved internet access allows us to connect in our cabins and print to the printers in the computer room. Better still get rid of the art store.
Thank you for posting the menu TC, I've salivated all over my keyboard but maybe that's too much information.
I only go on cruises every fifteen months and my last was on Voyager back in August so I won't be eating in Compass Rose until I cruise on Navigator in April 2015.
Enjoy your trip and keep the menus coming.

The stripe's ghastly. We all need to turn up at Voyager's next port of call with tins of white paint and what's happened to the nice sofas in the Horiizon lounge?
I don't want glitz, I want to feel comfortable and at home.
Have to say I preferred Voyager as she was and I'm glad I sailed in her in August before the dry dock......not that the changes will stop me sailing in her in the future of course.

We had a penthouse on Mariner in April 2012 and a cabin in the middle of deck six of Voyager this August just gone. I preferred the cabin on Voyager because it was nice to be closer to the water line.

Another boring drinks package thread
in Marella Cruises (formerly Thomson)
Posted
I'm taking my first Thomson cruise on 14th November to the Canaries.
It's not an all inclusive cruise and I've been quoted £199.00 per person for a drinks package i.e. £398.00 for both of us for seven nights which I have to book at least three days before the cruise.
I'm told it's possible to buy drinks packages once I'm on the boat but I can't find out of what they're likely to consist or whether they're likely to cost more than buying the package in advance.
Any advice?
Thanks
