  1. I have just booked Oceania deck 6 outside cabin for WC segments. Same as Pacific Princess. I have done at least a month on O previously. These smaller R ships do move around. I would do mid ship or aft ONLY.

thanks for the input....you confirm what I have read from others....avoid the forward cabins on Deck 6....and above the showroom....motion and noise...not something I want to contend with on a world cruise...

  2. We are sailing....just want to be sure our cabin will be suitable for the WC....anyone ever sailed on deck 6 starboard, forward?... Does the noise below in the cabaret lounge create a problem...What about rough seas...is it uncomfortable to be so far forward?

    Appreciate your input....

  3. View from cabin 6016. No steel or plexiglass to obstruct view. Our sons were in a cabin above us and I believe the lower half of their railing was solid steel.

Thanks for the picture....we are booked in 6017...starboard....just wonder if you felt the swells....or was it smooth sailing in this forward cabin....it appears to be above the cabaret lounge....was that a problem related to noise?

appreciate the input....planning on making this cabin our home for several months!

  4. I see you cruise RCL, HAL. The WC selection seems to be heavily British/Aussie ship focused. I would not go on any of these long cruises without a trial run.The choices for us N. Americans are scant.Do you wish to dress formally and eat British food? Tried Cunard once, not for me. I decided on Oceanias Insignia for 72 days. Cruised O twice. Doing Shanghai-LA .Food, ports worked best for me.Small, a classy version of Ocean/Pacific Princess. All are the old R ships They can get into ports the big ships cannot.. More dining choices and very casual No formal nights..But more money. My ideal line would be Celebrity Maybe some day. .Most of current WCs offer segments. I didnt want India,Africa etc. And I didnt want over 100Ns. so these Tropical segments allow me to visit Asia,Australia/NZ, Polynesia,HA and more. One long plane ride.

Sailed Celebrity several times and I agree....wish they would consider a world cruise but for now, the choices are narrowed to Princess, HAL, and Cunard...I have similiar concerns regarding Cunard yet the itinerary is appealing..

  5. Contemplating a world cruise in 2016 but uncertain of which ship/cruiseline to choose...A smaller ship is appealing but concerned that perhaps lack of activities and longer sea days will lead to boredom. Also, departing from a US port is appealing. Some cruises are also segmented and generally, how often do the passgengers change. Any feedback from experienced world cruisers is appreciated.
