I plan on following your review and am looking forward to it as you make it so interesting to read even though I have been on this ship. I like to get other people's perspective on a ship that I've been on before. Thanks for doing this.

Well, our cruise is right around the corner and wanted to see if anyone had any specific questions about Legend. I normally do a detailed review and it never fails that someone asks me about something onboard that I didn't notice, but if I had known ahead of time I could have had an answer. I will check the boards up until we board at 1:30 on Sunday and I'll either come back to this thread to answer or include the info in my review (and sometimes even both). Below are the things that I will already be making note of:
Price of Hennessy Pure White (I've seen pictures, it's not white🤪)
Current check-in process relative to COVID
Mask use before, during and after the cruise
How the protocols work in port (Nassau, Freeport, Princess Cay)
Will you please find out where the laundry facilities are and if they are open to use. We were on the Pride on September 12th and they were closed for use. Thanks

I also like to stand topside when we go under the bridge. I always think eventually the ship will hit the bridge but i know that they know the right time to go under the bridge and avoid any mishaps. Counting down the days to board the ship!

Following! I will see you and Alan on the 6th! Thanks for the live review

I love your reviews! I just added this thread so I can follow your adventures. I always wanted to go to Hawaii so now I can go through you both. Thanks for starting this thread. I am so excited to be able to follow along.:D

Stella--there is another silent disco tonight at 10. It is being held in the Solarium. I guess they will remove all of the loungers. It will be a much bigger space than the Quasar lounge it was in last time.
We plan to attend. I will let you know how it is.
OK, I will be looking forward to your take on the disco. I was going through my videos on my kindle this morning and forgot that I had videoed the silent disco when I was on the Anthem. I'll have to show it to you once we cruise together again.

About the Cactus....I watch Swamp People where they hunt alligator and harvest cactus for sale in their spare time when not hunting alligator. The cactus is sold for landscaping purposes. It was interesting how they uprooted and wrapped the cactus to prevent damage to it.

Tonight is Evening Chic. At 8PM there is an "Evening Chic Officers Soiree" in the Grand Foyer on decks 3,4,5. . . music and dancing. We will check in for a few minutes, however we have late dinner seating. So we will miss most of it.
I want to check out the Silent disco in the Quasar night club. [9:30pm] They give you a headset and you pick the genre to dance. [3 channels] We will be late due to dinner-- so, we hope the nightclub is not full. It will be interesting to see which 3 genres they offer. :D
I am eagerly following your thread! I did the silent disco on Anthem. I'll wait to hear what you think of it.

I am so very glad to have been able to follow along on this thread as I knew you and your husband would post a very accurate portrait of your cruise and the Mardi Gras, I only wish you could rest and be able to hop aboard the next cruise with so many Beadies on board. The March 3-27-17 cruise. i know at least 17 people on this cruise! Thanks for sharing your awesome cruise!

Dragon, I really, really enjoyed your review of the Mardi Gras and the pictures to go along with it. It seems like time just went by so fast for your cruise. It was educational as well as informative. I even when on your photo bucket and saw pictures from your Alaskan cruise and I enjoyed those as well.

No, you do not have to check towels out, on Celebrity ships. They place them on the loungers in the Solarium as you see in the photo. At the pool you will just pick up what you need from the carts located there. And return them to the laundry bins when finished with them. Very convenient..
Thank you for telling me that,PEIpair, I have never been on a Celebrity ship yet. I'll have to try one when I retire in the very near future when I really have the time to cruise on any ship I want to!

Dragon, I like the padded lounge chairs better than the non-padded on RCCL. Wish they would replace them with padded loungers. Do they really put all those towels on the loungers or do you have to check the towels out?

Wow!! Dragon of the Seas! Thanks for sharing your pictures and narrative of NOLA and Mardi Gras. I feel like I am experiencing this cruise along with you all in Spirit. Don't know if I will ever get to Mardi Gras but I will certain remember what you shared here in case I do get the opportunity to go one day....

Stella...in NOLA they are drinking as soon as they are out the door! No need to go any farther than that.;) No open carry prohibitions there.
I am in no way familiar with NOLA as i have never been there but hope to in the future....

Ok newbie here...I just thought that maybe Alan and Agnes were not so much drinkers and wanted to save there beverages for later when they wanted to drink them...

Today is a sea day. After 3 days of port stops most people are a little tired. I know we are and we skipped getting off at one port. We have not taken advantage of the daytime activitiesaround the ship, but plan to try a few things today. DH is currently at the open basketballsession and I am going to the scrapbook class this afternoon.
There have been lectures and port talks every day and ourdinner table mates have told us these were excellent. We are going to try to catch a little of theone on New Orleans today on the TV. Theyreplay these several times. We have notturned on the TV since we have joined the cruise.
We are somewhat familiar with NOLA. Our DS went to Tulane for law school and wemade a number of trips to drop him off and for graduation. We had visited 3 times on our own [onceduring Jazz Fest]. The most recent timewas for a back to back cruise on the Serenade of the Seas in April/May 2015 thatwere Round Trip from New Orleans. However,I do not think any of those has prepared us for Mardi Gras.
I have several favorite NOLA stories. One such story isstopping at a gas station and seeing they had an “adult slurpee” machine that dispensedfrozen daiquiris and pina coladas. Theserver asked me if it was for here or to-go. I said to go. So, she put a piece of scotch tape over the very top ofthe straw and handed it to me. LOL For graduation I bought 3 bottles of wine totake back to the hotel room for our family celebration [had a balcony room inthe French Quarter]. I asked where theykept the wine openers since I had not thought to bring one along. The clerk asked if all I wanted it for was toopen these bottles. I said yes. He proceeded to open each one and I walkedout of the store carrying 3 open bottles of wine. . . . yep—we were not in Virginia!
Last night we skipped the late night dancing/shows and I madea small donation to the cruise line via the casino. DH actually won a few dollars. Woo Hoo!
Oh My gosh i am laughing about the the three open bottles of open wine, good grief, how are you suppose to preserve them since they are all open:rolleyes:

Last night we went to a dance and sing along in the Sky Lounge. It was called :DABBA licious. It was like a group karaoke. They had a screen with the words to all the songs and for 45 minutes straight they played every song you have ever heard of. Of course the best ones were all at the End. By that time everybody was rocking out. I know this sounds lame for anybody who is under 40. But I think everyone enjoyed it. When we were done I went back to the room and collapsed.
After the Abba songs the rock band came back. One of the complaints that I often hear about celebrities is that the Cruisers are older and there's nothing to do late at night. But there has been a lively group and live music every night on this Cruise. I think in general that the age on this Cruise has skewed younger. I'm sure that's because of the three days were going to spend in New Orleans during Mardi Gras.
I am following along on your live thread. I have never been to Mardi Gras so this is a real treat for me that you are sharing this with all of us. I would have loved the group karaoke and would have definately joined in.

Hello,MrFunInTheSun!
I just happened upon your review three years later! i love Enchantment and miss her sorely! We have Grandeur in her place but it isn't the same. When I finally retire to Florida, Enchantment will be the first ship I sail on if she is left there still in Florida!
My question is this, when you do a back to back and stay or move to another room, if you bought alcohol the first leg of your trip will they deliver it to your room at the end of your first trip or do they keep it and give it to you on the last day of your second trip. Thanks for your response.

Just read the first page of your cruise while eating my lunch at work. All I can say is WOW!! I am looking forward to the rest of your review with anticipation. So wish I had your skills in putting together a review with photos and commentary as it would have come in handy for when I was on Anthem of the Seas last November. Talking about a huge ship. Anthem will take your breath away!

As we drove towards Timothy Hill, we passed the airport and the prison. The airport is building a new terminal for those with private jets. The prison was enclosed with a really small fence with no barb wire that would make escaping really easy. James said it doesn't happen often, though. The island is so small the escapee would be found in a couple of days. Inside the fenced in area is a garden the prisoners tend to.
We made it to Timothy Hill and stopped for about 20 minutes to get some pictures, souvenirs, and a few rum punches. Yes, I said a FEW rum punches in 20 minutes. :D A guy here tried to sell me a monkey for $50. I wish I could have but I'd have a hard time smuggling it back to Atlanta.
The St. Kitts Marriott Resort is on the left. It's the biggest hotel on the island.
The Atlantic Ocean is on the left, and the Caribbean Sea is on the right. What a spectacular view!
If you have a donkey, please don't torture him like this. He really does look like an a** (get it? haha), especially with a sleeping diapered monkey on his back. LOL
I took the tour of St. Kitts but in an air conditioned van like the one photo you showed. We went to this spot to where the donkey was and a tourist got on the donkey and the guide put a monkey on the tourist shoulder. It was really cute to see. The donkey had on big orange sun glasses and a straw hat.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Gapearl!
I was looking at your Itinerary for future cruises and I noticed that you will be going on the Pride out of Baltimore 2016. One thing I can tell you is that it is an easy Embark and Disembark. The other thing is it's a long long sailing down the bay to reach the ocean. Something like 9 hours or so. I don't personally like it but have no choice if I sail out of here since I live here. Another thing I don't like is that we only have two choices of ships to sail on. Royal's Grandeur of the Seas and Carnival's Pride. Wish we had more options but the ship's have to be able to fit under the bridges. NCL has ships that could and maybe they will send one in the future, one can only hope.
Bermuda is on my bucket list and I will be very interested in your review on Bermuda.
My last cruise was on the Anthem Nov. 10-22nd 2015 out of New Jersey. I took a charter bus to get to the port there. Anthem is BIG and Beautiful and I did a review on it if you get a chance to read it. The review is under my name, just look for Stella777. It's not anything like your review but I feel I captured most of what I experienced on Anthem.
I wish you a truly great 2016 full of unexpected surprises that you never imagined could happen for you.

One poster had asked how close tables are together. The answer is very in some cases, both our table at American Icon and tonight in Silk are within inches of each other
We have noticed they are encouraging people to share tables when there are 2 of you and tonight we were asked if we were happy to share rather than if we wanted to. We politely declined and advised our preference was a table for 2
They may be short of tables and that is why they asked if you would like to share. On another note you may have missed out on an opportunity to make life long friends with people you never knew you could enjoy time with in a cruise setting. But to each his own and that is not your preference obviously, so be it. Just my opinion and no offense. I love meeting new people and have precious members of those I meet and still cruise with those new people I met tilt his day! Love meeting new people as that is why i cruise even.

If there are any costume characters walking around then I will get a picture with them as that would be the only opportunity that I would get for who knows how long! I did it in New York with some sesame street characters way back about seven years ago and I knew that that was the only time to do it as that show is not listed any more. Things change constantly in time square and shows replace each other constanly

Following along. Amazing pictures! Thanks for sharing. Did you put on a certain kind of sunscreen because of the coral?
