Here is my Step by step experience for Binax Now Home test (NOT the self test type)I did the “proctored test precruise today” wanted to give the anxious cruisers a boost of easiness. First cleaned off large area for laptop to sit and plenty of room for test card to not fall off table (IMO do not use a desk- as have to put the test card undisturbed in front of keyboard for 15min)
1.Create NAVICA app, or as I did, I logged in thru emed whom bought test kits from. Answer screen questions on location etc., and it runs a test of sound, camera, mic etc.

2.Have test UNOPENED by you, I had two by me in case of a defect. Also an ID, scissors to help open box.
3.click test- I was next at 10:30am on a Sat.
    4. show them the sticker with QR code using web camera holding it close. Focus it on little green square as guide. They noticed my ID and test registered name was missing middle- I left no middle name as my covid card is written without middle name and MUST match test. I also did not use middle name on Carnival booking.
5.per proctor now open blue box- inside is packet, swab and liquid bottle.

6.Tip laptop lid so can see card an likely half of yourself. Open packet with card per proctor, laying in front of keyboard like an open book with holes on right. I made sure to flex it so it laid flat, Touch only edges.

6.Per proctor Open vial, hold vertical so 5-6 drops fill small hole on top- more is better.

7.per proctor open swab by stick end- swab circling each nostril 3x

8.now proctor has you slide swab end into larger hole and twist it 3 times.
9.proctor will tell you to take off paper on edge and close the booklet. DO NOT touch it at all, they will video monitor it for 15min with timer on screen.
10.You can see the liquid moving up toward control line. It will be horizontal lavender. Hopefully only line you see!

11.Be in front of computer at 14-15min it will chime. A new proctor will come back on and ask a few questions. Pay attention! Hope you see one line = negative. They will log off.

12.My results were almost immediate in email. click on link to download and print.  The NAVICA app also has results button on bottom left click on it.
    * my glitch it only lets me log in to my NAVICA app only for results and not see family. I had spouse log in on his cell.
    Cruising in two days!!!
Hope this long of a post is allowed, I was worried about using my laptop camera for the first time but worked great. I also watched a YouTube video, on Binax home testing.
Any questions ask- sailing Radiance 4 Monday 28th.
ps- if you have a pet maybe do in a closed room or sit and guard your test. If it gets touched during 15min is invalid.

We have to wait to open the box when told to do so? So does this mean that I can't use one my test and my travel companion use the other one in the box?

Trying to find an excursion on a boat that has steps going down into the water for stringray city. Carnival has their contract with marineland  tours that has a boat like this. I'm having a very hard time trying to book it. Maybe you know of another tour operator that has a simular boat??

I need this, too. Any recommendations?

  3. I did the online check-in for my upcoming cruise but skipped the photo part because I wasn’t ready to take one (didn’t know I would have to provide one). But now it says I’ve completed check in and I can’t go back to take the photo (it was right after I put in my passport info). Is this something they can do at the terminal?

  4. I travel on June 14 aboard Enchantment of the Seas. Since booking over a year ago, I have experienced some health issues that I fear will ruin my vacation. I’m not opposed to just chilling on the ship. That’s actually what I want to do. However, due to a back and neck surgery last year and a week long ICU stay due to blood clots all over my lungs in December, I don’t move as well as I did when booking. Sometimes I use a walker. I know using it onboard will not be an issue. I’m concerned about getting on board and how strenuous that will be. Any advice?

  5. I sailed last year on spring break, just as I am this year. Pi Day happens to usually fall during spring break. I saw several people on the ship last year on the lido deck wearing tshirts commemorating Pi Day. I just loudly said, "Math Nerds unite!" and struck up a few conversations. (I'm a secondary math teacher)

  6. THIS is what I'm scared of! Going on my first solo in a few months and I am terrified that I'll tell the wrong person I'm solo and be carted away somewhere... I've been grappling with the idea of just lying and telling people my spouse is stuck in the room sick or something. At least to quell my own anxiety.

Carted away somewhere as in kidnapped? Or as in you're crazy?! I don't even consider the crazy part. I did consider bad things happening. I figure I just need to make sure that in port I do not go off alone. I scheduled a Carnival excursion for a little extra peace of mind. On ship, I still need to keep my wits about me and be aware of my surroundings. That's pretty easy for me to do.

  7. Hi,:) I have been sailing solo for 13 years....(it is the only way I cruise)....

it really is quite easy to meet people on a ship...at least it is for me.

If I am having drinks, I sit at the bar and most folks are quite friendly.

If there is a type of activity I enjoy, I participate.....if not, I am happy

    in a lounger.....doing nothing;)

As for your roll call.....for March 2017? Since it is 13 months out.....

I am pretty sure it will pick up as the year goes by:)

Hope you have a great cruise:)

March 12 of THIS year. As in two weeks!

  8. Last time I went on a cruise I took lots of pictures, but was in none of them (even though I went with other people). For the most part, I was doing my own thing on the ship and in port. Many family and friends asked why I was in none of them. So, this time, I want to be in pictures. But I'm going solo. I considered a selfie-stick, but I'm not a fan of them. I don't feel comfortable asking strangers to take a picture of me. It makes me feel self-absorbed asking someone to take a picture of me, though I don't think that way about others who ask me to do the same for them. I'm weird, I know.

  9. I go out to eat alone very often, so that doesn't bother me. The "just one" used to, but I'm so used to it I don't even notice anymore. I DO, however, get linked with others standing anywhere near me.

I have joined my roll call, but it seems pretty dead. Is it too soon to expect action on there? My sail date is March 12 (Spring Break) and I'm sailing on Carnival Triumph.

The days at work getting more stressful as we get closer to state testing and because I'm looking forward to spring break, the days are dragging. I try to come here or to Carnival site to get excited about the upcoming cruise.

  10. This is my third cruise, but my first going solo. I've actually never travelled solo before. I know I really need to get away, but I'm a bit apprehensive. I do like my solitude at times, but I also like socialization. I'll be on the Carnival Triumph for spring break, March 12. I'm a middle school teacher so I have few options for travel dates. I also have my sister and her pre-teen and teenager living with me, so getting away alone is pretty much a necessity right now.

I know how to go about having my alone time, but how I an find friendly people to socialize with when I feel I need it? I do often feel I need adult time.

  11. Not long after booking my cruise, I got a puppy. My cruise is still a few months off and my puppy is now almost 6 months old, but I already feel guilty about leaving her with a friend or boarder for a week. Anyone else ever feel this way?

  12. I have the hardest time finding a swimsuit that looks good on me. My weight is mostly hips and legs. My top is size 18/20 with pretty much nonexistent bust, hips are 26/28. Legs should never be seen. Any suggestions on what to look for? Tanks never stay down.
