The current sales disappear soon after I spot them (~within a day), unlike the preview to the Extraordinary Sale last year when the prices would be static for weeks; in fact, I just checked and this one is already gone. I won't share my TA since it is against the CC rules, but it is just a local, family run business who belongs to the Signature consortium (I've been told by a mod that consortia can be named), so find a TA that belongs to Signature and one that belongs to Virtuoso who have searchable websites. Keeping up with jaw-droppers is a full time job, so I'll just wait and see...if no cruise, then there is a lot of Wilderness to get lost in when the temps get too high (which for me is usually May-Sep 😉 ).

Thank you! We haven't had the luck  of finding a good TA but I will keep trying. We tend to wait for a brochure by Oceania and then we would contact a TA. Never got any of the "silent sales" : (

Single use jams and jellies are readily available as are small bottles of shampoos and the like. Condiments are offered in large shared bottles. Oceania and Regent have jumped aboard the "no plastic train", so plastic cup covers and water bottles have been eliminated. Thats it in the politically correct " greenie" department for now.

Are there no bottled water anymore? We used to take some with us on excursions.

We made it to the ship! Traffic was heavy at the Holland Tunnel but after arriving at a near empty parking deck, everything was a breeze.  Security and check in was ten minutes total and most of that was walking!

We had a fast muster check in and we took the stairs up four flights to have lunch.  We opted for Waves Grill for lunch.  It was super hot but well worth it.  We each had the surf and turf sandwich and it was outstanding.  Very quick service for the Prosecco as well.  The buffet was very crowded so even though it was hot it was a good call.
Next mission was to upgrade the beverage package which was a little bit of a wait.
Now to break it in at Martinis with a Negroni for him and Aperol spritz.
    Ahhh…vacation mode engaged.

Hi, can you tell me how much does it cost to upgrade the drink package? And, do both people of the same cabjn have to upgrade, or can just one person upgrade? Thanks.

Not that I am aware of. I was on Nautica last week and didn’t see any Red Ginger dishes on the menu.  I wish they would.

Thanks for your response. I am disappointed to hear that because when we cruised on the Insignia years ago (before Covid) they used to have some selected dishes from Red Ginger and Jacques in the dining room each night.

Usually anytime dining means you walk up and wait at the MDR. Are you referring to reservations to a specialty restaurant? It would also help to know which ship.

We will be on the Milennium. Yes we have Anytime Dining but we can also make reservations on the app. I just wasn't sure if that is required or not. Also, some of our port are quite late and I don't want to rush back just to make the reserved dinner time.

  6. Hi, does anyone know what happens if we don't have a reservation and are on the Dining Anytime program? Do we just walk in and wait for a table?

On the other hand, if we have made a reservation but did not make it in time, do we just lose our reservation and can do a walk in later?

    Thanks in advance.

We started down the steps together, but we were optionally allowed to roam around the temple area on our own. You just had to make sure we were back at the bus at a certain time. We pretty much keep our tour guide in sight or knew where she would be if we wanted to check something out, like climb the stairs to the upper level. And yes, the hour we were given was plenty of time to explore.

The outdoor market was fun to walk through, but we didn’t buy anything as we’re not shoppers, just lookers. As far as finding our way back, it was relatively easy as long as you didn’t stray off the beaten path too far. Our guide mentioned CCs were accepted in stores, but probably not by the local street vendors. There were also a variety of places there where you could exchange money, but that would cut into the limited time you have to explore unless you chose to leave the tour and take the shuttle bus back to the ship. As far as eating anything at the market, that’s not are thing either. I met Mr Montezuma quite a few years back and have no desire to feel his wrath again. 😂

Hi, thanks for your posts. I am following with interest in preparation for a similar cruise in September.

One question please if you could help: you mentioned "unless you chose to leave the tour and take the shuttle bus back to the ship". I know you did not take the shuttle but do you have more information about it?

    Thank you!

  8. Thanks for the responses. I wonder if anyone who recently cruised can confirm if the alcoholic coffee drinks at Al Bacio are covered in the Classic drink package, i.e. up to $10 and pay the difference + gratuity for higher price drinks. When we sailed pre-covid and had a classic drink package, most of those drinks were covered. Things may have changed : (

None of the juices or smoothies in the Spa Cafe are covered by the classic drink package.  All the food is included for anyone (with or without a drink package).

The only drinks NOT covered at Cafe al Bacio under the classic package are a few of the alcohol based ones that are over $10, although your drink package does get you a $10 discount on any of those drinks.

Does anyone know how much are the alcohol coffee drinks at Cafe al Bacio? Years ago when we last sailed with Celebrity, they were under $10.

  10. A related question to ask which can contribute to the calculation on whether a drink package is worth it is: What are the occasions and venues on the ship that offer free drinks? For example, Captain's Club welcome party, Platinum and Elite welcome party? How many times do these occur (does it depend on the length of the cruise)?

Secondly, one can order the special drinks at the P&E lounge during happy hours on most days, at a discounted price ($8 / drink was the latest I heard).

Lastly, each person can bring one bottle of wine at time of embarkation to enjoy in the cabin.

I think these factors all can contribute to the calculation of whether or not to go for a drink package. IMHO.

Here’s some pictures from the base of the waterfall and glacier and of the trail down to it. Nugget falls is about .75 of a mile on a paved path.  It’s an easy walk with not too much of an elevation change. It’s also a very pretty walk. Once you get to the memorial plaque for Romeo you’re just about there.

Stunning pictures! What type of transportation did you use to go the Mendenhall Glacier? Did you join a tour or go by yourself?

We went to Sushi around noon.   I ordered a drink and was told that the bar (World Class Bar) that made the drinks wasn’t open.   They could try to get the drink from Cafe Al Bacio.    It was terrible.   I had the premium drink pack but if I had to pay for it I would be pissed.  HINT   Read between the lines about where the drinks are made.   Sometimes it pays to get on friendly terms with the BTs  at the WCB.

    Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Where is the World Class Bar? I can't seem to find it in the Millennium deck plan

They are covered the same as any other restaurant.   You have to dine to be able to order a drink.   I asked if I could just order a drink and was told no as it is a restaurant and not a bar.

Maybe we can get away with ordering just a bit of food,  to go with a couple of drinks? 😅 I have to agree that the drinks look very appealing.

We are so excited to finally try out Martini Bar today. It opens in 10 minutes and we will be there waiting for the bartender to start🤣🤣🤣

I planned to have an afternoon report before dinner but OP was too excited to talk about his in-room corona with tequila.😅

We had lunch at sushi on 5.  Mr. OP had sake and I had two Asian fusion cocktails. Zen Milk Bath is an adult version of iced matcha latte. I have never had any similar cocktail and enjoyed it very much. The only complaint is that it was not double stained and I had to use my upper lip and front teeth to keep the ice chips out. I then had a Tea Leaf. They drink was, wow, by far my favorite on the cruise. It has clean taste, refreshing, fragrant, floral, low ABV, not too sweet, and very easy to go down. I might go back to sushi 5 just for that drink.

I’m having troubles uploading the pictures. Zen Milk Bath ($12) has sake, vanilla vodka, green tea liquor, and milk. Tea leaf ($15) has sake, citrus vodka, st germain, and green tea. Both are served up in a coupe.

Hi, just wondering - are the drinks at Sushi on 5 covered by the drink package? Thanks.
