Dulshan met us at port gate 1A as where our ship docked guides were not allowed on port. We had ship shuttles to gate, was about 15 minute ride or more.

If you are not there for at least 14 hours, I would not even consider it, the traffic is very heavy on local road.Even coming back on motorway which was much faster, getting back to port gate from exit off motorway,took about 30 minutes. 

We had a group of 7 and cost was Usd 110, or Eur100., because Dilshanhad to hire van and driver.

For just two, he would use his car so I think price would be lower, but check with Dulshan. If you give him ship times he will know if practical or give you some other options.

Whatever you do, I am sure you will have  great day, he is fun, knowledgeable, and lovely person

I had first contacted Dulshan before our 2020 world cruise, to arrange day trip to Galle. Of course that never happened because of Covid. Contacted him again for our world cruise this year, he responded very quickly , remembered me and what we had planed. Dulshan alwayspromptly  replied to queries via Whats App.

He met us on the morning with lovely clean van, we set off down local road, which was exciting in itself, traffic in Sri Lanka is a bit chaotic, stopping at a couple of local stalls and the important beer shop. Sri Lankans love excuse for a party he said.

Dulshan was full of stories all along the drive, speaks very good English, is entertaining, and very funny.

Booked us in to a busy local restaurant for standard Sri Lankan lunch, rice and curry, so much food came out and very cheap price.We did river cruise, saw how cinnamon harvested, and went to various sights in Galle itself.

Came back on motorway which was quicker.

He is a wonderful guide, knowledgeable, fun and knows his way around.

We have hired him again for first day in Kobe on world cruise.

We have recently returned from Holland America cruise around Japan, and whilst in Oska, had a two day tour with Toichi Nkata from Tours by Locals.

Ichi was a wonderful guide, good fun. We did a tour to Osaka first day, (rained all day getting wetter as day went on), but we still managed to see such a lot and had a wonderful lunch at a little restaurant that Ichi knew.

Next day in Osaka, weather much better, and we went up to Osaka Castle, not inside as huge queues, Namba and Dotonbori.

Travel was by train and bus.

A wonderful two days and we have arranged to meet with Ichi again next year when we are back in Japan

I did check Unique Java out and some of the tours looked interesting, but have decided to book with Tours By Locals, Heritage Tour, so will see how that goes.

Our cruise  will be in Mamoudzou in April 2020. Any suggestions on what to do there. Ship in port from 8-5.

Thanks for that. The ship has a tour going to both Ralli and Casapueblo.  WE are not great art gallery people, more interested in just the architecture, so maybe it will just have to be a taxi ride

WE are hoping to visit Casapueblo when we are in Punta Del Este. Does anyone have any hints on how to get there?. Is there a bus or is it a taxi ride.

It's about a10 minute walk from the Hyatt at Exchange Place. The Hyatt House around the corner has a coin laundry. Perhaps you could arrange to use that.

We will be at Hyatt Regency for 6 days after coming off a 14 day bus tour, and before we head off on our New England Cruise. AS we will need to do laundry, any suggestions for self service laundromat close to hotel.

We have an overnight stopover on our Holland America cruise in July this year and we thought we might like to perhaps do a tour around the Southern Coast.

Another Highly recommendation for Sylvie she was the best, my only negative was that we didn't use her in other ports besides Monte Carlo, she is great!

Whatever you do, do NOT book with Absolutely Southern France, they did not have a guide that spoke nor understood English well, did not offer what was promised and she was hard to reach when we had a problem and was nasty to deal to boot!

We tried to get Sylvie for a tour from Reflection cruise on 31st May, but unfortunately she was already booked by another group from the ship. However she has advised me she still has many vacancies for other days, so if you are o a different cruise you many be lucky. She is very prompt in replying to emails
