I won't be surprised to see other cruise lines follow soon because of Omicron.
Lawmakers already planning for another Bailout.
What bailout? I believe the cruise lines received no bailout funds, because technically they are not USA companies.

I posted this on the Celebrity forum, bur though I would also post this question here.
What does a cruiser from Canada (or any other country) do if he or she tests positive at the end of the cruise just before debarking. Do they have to find a local hotel to quarantine, and how do they get there.
And does anyone know if Celebrity offers any help in this case since it is the end of the cruise.

A question. What does a cruiser from another country (Canada) do if he or she tests positive at the end of the cruise just before debarking. Do they have to go to a local hotel to quarantine in and how to they get to that hotel.
And does Celebrity offer any help in this case, since it is the end of the cruise?

As the original poster, I certainly don't mind paying well earned gratuities for the third person, but was only interested in when the change took place. I think a previous poster noted that for bookings made after 12/09/2020 the rules changed and I appreciated his/her comments. I just wondered why my invoice went from payments for the first two, to payments for all three.
And it is nice to find that the AI benefits now covers not just two, but all three in the cabin.

When I examined my final billing from Celebrity it had a $144 gratuity charge for the third person in the cabin, but when I make the booking back in February of 2020, there was no gratuity charge for the third person. Was this changed in the intervening time? Or did they make a mistake in the original booking.

Use to love lobster now really wont touch them, no reason in particular just do not find them tasty any more. Cooked them plenty of times, got them fresh from Cape Cod and Maine areas plenty of times.
It's funny to think that about 150 years ago inmates in jails in the maritimes were served lobster, because it was a cheaper protein choice and was so abundant.

Next to the Grand Bistro will be their newest and probably highest end restaurant, which is interesting as I always felt the Kitchen for Grand Bistro was the best on the ship.
-
Their costs may be lower, as fewer staff would be needed fo accommate fewer cruises in the cabins and the dining rooms.

Thank you everyone for their advise and expertise. All Scandinavian cruises in 2021 are 14 night out of Southampton and all the Scandinavian cruises in 2022 are only 12 nights out of Amsterdam. The ports are pretty much exactly the same. I guess it’s just a roll of the dice if celebrity does indeed cancel if they would also consider that the same sailing the following year. The embarkation ports are different and cruise length differences but those are the closest they have in the future
Thanks again everyone
I'm in the same situation and also regret that the cruises next year will be 12 day rather than 14 day (and at a slightly higher price even though the cruises are short While I was tempted re rebook on the APEX out of Amsterdam, I chose to book the Silhouette as we were looking forward to also visiting London. The other temptation to book the new ship,, the APEX, is that it docks right beside the Movenpick hotel in Amsterdam, whereas I will have to travel down to Southampton to board the Silhouette. I had an NRD deposit and the only advantage for me was I didn't have to pay the $100pp penalty charge for the switch.
Best wishes on whatever direction you take.

Roux did treat everyone the same. When my daughter worked on the cruise staff he would visit their cruise ship and check not only what was being offered to the passengers, but what was being offered to the crew, including interviewing them. and subsequent changes/improvements were made after his visit.

ChucktownSteve, could not have said it better myself.
Celebrity back then was something special, it was a leading edge premium cruise line with new ships. The food, service, everyone was treated the same. The Roux days, I sure miss that.
Since 2015, Celebrity has gone down hill to just another mass line. Such is life.

This may have been mentioned already, but since vaccines will probably be very difficult to obtain at first even when they are released, perhaps the cruise companies could offer them to anyone taking a cruise with a company, in fact insist on having a vaccine to board (while offering the option dockside). That way everyone on board would be. vaccinated and hopefully not a carrier.

Couldn't cruise ships sail out of Seattle, as many have in the past?
-
I find l like both of them. With Cruisemapper you can focus on just Celebrity ships, etc, but Marine Traffic lets me (usually) project their paths.
-
In looking at the anticipated future tracking, it appears the ship is headed for the dockyards at Freeport, which makes sense in some ways, to add some more items or fix any problems that arise.

The Coq au Vin is the best I have had anywhere!! It is the featured dish for Saturdays.

Thanks Esprit. So in the future (2021) when we are dining in the Lawn Club Grill, we can be entertained by the movie playing across the lawn from us. I think I might enjoy that. And best wishes to your SIL.

Thanks. So it appears that the Silhouette after leaving Florida on Jan 3, will only be in actual dry dock for about 3 1/2 weeks, and then work will continue onboard until its first scheduled cruise on Feb 14
And thanks for the further details HS2BS. I hope you will write a review after your B2B on the newly revolutionized Silhouette

Just curious. Where is the Silhouette going for it's Revolution dry dock?

When I was trying to compare non-refundable and refundable, and wanted to compare with 3 perks (love my perks), I eventually noticed on the "lowest price" (NRD) option that when I selected it I could ignore the 1 perk choice it presented and instead chose the 3 Perks-Sail Plus option (which stated that the avg per person additional cost was $247pp) and found when I chose the 3 options OBC, tips, classic beverage, that the resultant cost was $1,000 CAD lower for the 3 of us on a 14 day Europe cruise. So since we were sure we were taking that cruise, it was easy to select the NRD option.
-
One time recently I choose the decline option under the perks and noticed the per person fare at the top dropped quite significantly and I even acquired a bit more OBC. At least as I recall.
-
Thanks for your replies. On Celebrity they let you know the difference early in the booking process, but Royal makes you fill in all the guest details etc before showing you the difference. It's a bit frustrating when one is just looking at potential options.

Does one save much using the no deposit refund option?

-Amsterdam: Brilliance
-Copenhagen, Stockholm: Jewel
That's been the arrangement for some time but it looks like the Baltic cruises may be quite interesting in 2021. Starting June 9 to Sept 7 both the Brilliance and the Jewel will homeport at the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam (ptamsterdam is the abbreviation they use) and they will both home port on the same days during that period. So depending on the itineraries, one could take one of the 12 day cruises and then either do a B2B on the same ship OR switch to the other ship on the same day. This does not seem to hold true for the summer of 2022 (yes they do have a calendar for that), where only the Brilliance is listed and the Jewel only visits the port twice.
Is Le Grand Bistro open for lunch on embarkation day on the Apex?

For us, Coq au Vin is one of our favourites and theirs is the best we have eaten anywhere (even better than the one we enjoyed in Le Havre). So we will be rushing there when we board on Saturday. and all their other offerings are outstanding, probably because they work from their own kitchen, and we note that the new exclusive dining room on the Beyond will be right beside the Bistro and perhaps may even use the same kitchen?
But maybe because of your recommendation we may also go there Sunday
