  1. Hi Crewsweeper,    Yes you’re right, I should have said “Piers” I wasn’t thinking.    The reason I was asking is because the tour we are taking is picking us up at the pier, and they wanted to know which pier.

    Thank you

    Carol

  2. we are thinking of taking a cruise on the P&O Oceana next April. I was reading about the restaurants and buffet, I'm unsure about the buffet, is there a charge or not for eating there? It stated it is open 20 hours per day, and a surcharge. All others cruise lines we've been on (18 in all) there isn't a charge for the buffet.

    Thank you Carol

  3. Hello, we're thinking of taking a cruise on the P & O Oceana, next April, when I was reading about the buffet, it wasn't very clear if there is a charge or not. On other cruise lines the buffet has always been free, can anyone tell me please, thank you. Carol.

  4. We are flying from JAX, Florida to Nairobi, Kenya for a safari.

We are thinking of doing something like your trip, our daughter lives in Amilia Island, so we would be driving down from Toronto Canada ( which we do every year to stay in Destin) and flying out of JAX, We want to do a safari not too sure which one, and a cruise, I'll keep my eye open on this form, hope you have a good time, My email is carol.skip@yahoo.ca.

Thanks any info would be great.

  5. Hi everyone, SPRING has come back, 18c yesterday, all the snow has gone👏👏. 🌷🌷. How I wish I was you, for next year, Dancer Bob, we were going to do six weeks in the Caribbean, three different ships, but now will be down in NC. for Christmas, at our daughters, so as we're driving down for that, decided for Feb, & 1/2 March, going to Destin Florida, our old place, BUT I do get my cruise in, two weeks on celebrity eclipse,

    S. Caribbean. Oh well can't have everything.

    Enjoy. Carol

  6. Hi there, hello "dancer Bob", Carol here, just to let you know, we did enjoy, our cruise with Costa, although the weather was on the cold side, it hit all of Europe and I ended up with bronchitis the second week of the criuise, which lasted five weeks in total, compared to the two Costa cruises (B2B) we did before out of Venice, which we really didn't enjoy, too many kids, not enough supervision by parents and the crew couldn't careless attitude. We said we wouldn't go on another Costa cruise again, but the one we ended up taking in January was a last minute fill-in, before our cruise with MSC, and we enjoyed it, the itinerary was good, the crew were great, the only thing was the cold weather, and my bronchitis. We enjoyed the MSC cruise as well, first time with them, then we went onto Cyprus for a month, (which was our original plan for the Mediterranean, hubby wanted to go back, was there in 1954). Next year, back to the Carribean again, have booked with Celebrity Eclipse, 14 days, can drive down, having Christmas with our daughter, cruise, then Destin Fl for a month.

    Happy cruising. Carol

  7. One big tip I haven't seen mentioned on these boards is to buy the carafe of red/white wine in the MDR. It costs the same as 2 glasses (~E11) but gives you a good 4 glasses worth. It's only the house wine but is perfectly drinkable. A lot cheaper than a bottle!

Thank you for the tip. We're in Nice, arr yesterday, at 4pm, left Canada at 4pm, changed in LGW, one long day. Will be making our way to Marseille at lunch time. Embarking on the 4th.

    Bob, more snow ++

    Happy New Year. Carol. 🍾🍾

  8. Good morning everyone, hope you had a great Chriistmas. More snow, been a horrible few days with accidents, roads icy. Bob you'll know 410, 40 car pile up, ++ injured, but thankfully no one killed.

We're packed for the start of our trip, leave Saturday, for Marseille to catch the ship on the 4th. Could do with a bigger case, but only taking carry-on.

Everyone have a Happy New Year.

    Carol. 🛳🛳 🍾🍾

  9. HI Bob, Where ever you're going next, stay until spring, Barrie is -15 at this time, 06.15am, high of -9, not too sure about Toronto, haven't put the news on yet, and we're to get 15 - 20cm of snow, on top of the 4inches we got a few days ago, and more to come, School buses, east west and north, up to Parry Sound have been closed for a few days. Other than that, it does look pretty when the sun is out.

    Take care

    Carol

  10. No problem for us, even though I'm up walking at 6am, on the cruises can still stay up until around 11pm, more to do on the ship than at home watching TV, which makes one tired. Can always catch a nap on deck too. Nice to know there is some dancing going on, although may not be our kind of ballroom music, if it is maybe can do plain basics, and small steps. Latin don't have a problem with, just stay close, and nothing fancy. C

  11. Hi Bob, thanks for the buffet info. We had a few snow flurries yesterday, didn't stay, Haven't looked out side this am, yet, only 6am, thinking about my coffee. Had a beautiful sun rise yesterday, we went Christmas shopping, started to rain, then the snow, on the way home. Guess it's giving us a bit of what's to come. It had better be good today, we're going to the other side of Bowmanville, two hours from here. Bye Carol
