I have a friend who is currently on the Explorer of the Seas and returns to Port Liberty on Sunday. I am going to pick her up, leaving from my home in Bucks County PA. (north of Philadelphia). I have no idea what the debarkation procedure is for a one-time crew member (I think she's subcontracted on this gig) and I am really perplexed.
About what time might I expect her to be off the ship? I'm familiar with the area from years gone by (My dad was a tanker captain) but not the cruise terminal per se. It looks like its in a pretty populated area, can I just park on the street and wait for her call? How close can I get? Any suggestions on when to arrive and how to deal with this whole process would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Great review so far! Alaska will probably be our next cruise and I can't wait!

Power strip. I have a lot of stuff to charge.
Every single person I know with cruising experience told me to get a power strip. I was all "what am I going to need THAT for". Then I counted the devices in my packing list and the number of chargers I was bringing. Power strip is packed. :D

You shouldn't have to resort to this but yes it helps to concentrate the mind.
Another factor is to withhold alcohol until after muster drill is over
-then the alcohol can be served, but not before.

I went helicopter skiing once, there was a safety lecture before we set out. They handed out avalanche beacons first and told us individually that "You wear this inside your clothes, we ALWAYS find the beacon".
They had our complete attention for the rest of the safety lecture.

Thanks, I just checked it out on google maps and that does make sense from what I can see. It also means I can sleep a bit later if 10 is a good time to get there. I'll give myself two hours and change.
