  1. The Haven 2 bedroom suites are wonderful. We have stayed with our 3 children a couple of times and now have 4 children and will be staying in one this summer. They are small but comfortable and worth the $$$  We also throughly enjoyed the Haven restaurant.

We did get the Big Suite ( Presidents suite? cannot remember the name) on a RCCL ship one time and the suite was fantastic but the service was terrible and we haven't sailed them since.

We have also sailed in a couple of the large suites on the older Disney ships and everything was fantastic!

Well a group of us, 9 adults, 7 children, ranging in ages from 11 to 7 months are going to Alaska.  We're all in Aft H6 cabins.  I wonder about the reception we'll get in the Haven restaurant?  Grandparents of all the children will be along and we'll try to keep the kids occupied and not offensive to the other diners, but I can just imagine the raised eyebrows (and rightly so, we understand!!!) when our entourage walks in!  Oh my!!!  I think we may have to find other venues for meals if it becomes a problem.

The Haven is not geared toward adults. They have several 2 bedroom family suites. I'm sure there will be several other children around. You should get nothing but a warm reception in the Haven restaurant. We are taking our 4 kids to Alaska this summer as well and staying  in the Haven with a few other families.  Have a wonderful time!!! Alaska is our new favorite! This will be our second time taking the kids to Alaska.

  3. I am a mother of 4. I have cruised since my oldest was 6 months old. We have taken about 17 cruises since then. GO!!!! Do not let people discourage you.  Yes life with children is different but you will still have a good time. You will have to make adjustments to schedule, food Etc.. it will be ok.  Go make the memories with your family. You never know what curve balls life may through you.  Don't miss this opportunity because it may put you out of your comfort zone.  We traveled on NCL many times with the babies and they were great. We also traveled with them in the Haven at one point too everyone was just fine and very welcoming. However, Nothing beats Disney when you have kids. We have sailed Disney the last 9 cruises and did Alaska a few years ago. It was Amazing.

We are cruising on the Bliss this summer to Alaska again with all of them. Ages 6, 9, 12,13 now. Looking forward to it.

  4. Keep trying even once you get on board. We got One the day before Castaway Cay and we were not concierge level or platinum. We were total pest though. We either stopped by or called the desk at least once or twice a day.

  5. Keep trying! It took us until our 8th cruise to get one but we finally did last December and ended up with the large family one. It was awesome. We found out the day before. So please be persistent and check regularly with guest services.

And we were not concierge level.

  6. Help!!! Terribly overwhelmed on what in the world to pack! We are from Florida so this is a completely different climate then we are used to. I have 3 girls 6,9,10 and one little boy 3.

I have read that some of the exclusions recommend water proof shoes. I am assuming that this isn't my idea of water shoes. Please let me know what this means. Sorry for my ignorance, I'm usually packing bathing suits and flip flops. 😜

  7. GO!!!

You will end up taking a vacation somewhere and Disney is the best with infants. I have 4 kids and we have sailed with each of them as an infants. Some on other cruise lines. No one compares to Disney. They take such good care of families and the nursery is really great. I would not hesitate to go for one second!

  8. Moki thanks so much for your answer!

I have not updated my signature in a very long time! I need to just remove it. The last 3 years we have only been taking Disney cruises. With 4 kids, there is nothing better!!! As a mom, I actually get a vacation out of it.

Thanks again for your response, i will let them know we want a cabana the second we are on board. We luckily ended up with a very early port arrival time.

  9. Hi!

Can someone please tell me if they rent family cabanas to non concierge guest? This is our 6th Disney cruise and we have yet to get one. Even with 120 days out, they all show up as sold out. I have been on the computer either at 12:00am or 4:00am the first day. Am I wasting my time?

  10. Wonderful pictures! Thanks for posting!

Can you please clarify something for me? Are cabanas only for concierge level guest? I am looking at your room number starting with an 8 and am assuming this isn't true??

I have had mixed answers from my travel agent and Disney cruise employees. We try to get one the second we can reserve anything online with no luck. I was even on at midnight the last 2 cruises and they were already all sold out. This is our 6th Disney cruise.

    Thanks!
