That is incorrect. It changed within the past 6 months
I got double points when my sister couldn't come last October.

My early time was 6pm so it might depend on the ship

I've started finding prices all over the place. I sail solo and sometimes paying for two works out cheaper and offer GTY or choose my room.
Everything is so expensive now, especially for solo passengers. £2,000 for an inside on the new Iconic. Won't be happening.

Do not put a mask on - questions will be asked. I had a cold the past two times I cruised, once on Wonder in September and again on Vision in October and had no issues. They never asked anything. And I never wore a mask. We need to get on with life! Enjoy your cruise 🥰

We got the sneak peak promo footage on our last cruise and I have seen additional 'footage' since I have been back...
Is it just me getting old or does it seem like they are trying to out-do Disney in being family and kid forward???
Seams like a lot of footage effort emphasized all the young cruiser activities. Yes they still have a Solarium type area but many the other activities seem to be kid focused...
Is RCI trying to redefine their target demographic? (For this class of ship???)
As a solo traveller - £2000 for an inside and full of kids, no thank you. I just wish they did a ship (like Virgin) where it's adult only.

I was looking at an eleven night cruise on Vision for December 2021 and it was £400 cheaper to say that two people were in the room than one person.
live started doing this often now and have the other person as a no show and get double points. -
I decided to take the refund as you need to pay a new deposit and any money left over on the FCC is then put towards another cruise and not towards OBC so it was going to work out more expensive in the long run.
i have heard that some USA TA’s are holding bookings and not charging for a new deposit but it’s always different for us in the UK.

I assume you’d get an email with an fcc voucher just like any other fcc.
I’ve never had any FCC before so I’m unsure how it works.
-
I’m very sorry if this has been asked but I’m struggling to find any info.
I have taken the FCC on purchases I made in the planner for my cancelled cruise. How do I receive it? I do have a booking for the 6th September which I will cancelling but do have one booked for the 6th December which I want to use it for but I have no idea how it works.
Thank you in advance.

I book as if someone else is going and then tell them it’s a no show a couple of days before as I’ll get the port taxes back and I’ll get double points.
if the cruise doesn’t go and you’ve paid full payment, you get all the money back. It’s only if you chose the FCC it will be split to both passengers. -
I’m living in the Isle of Man 🇮🇲 on my own. All my family live in Heysham (UK) where the Isle of Man boats goes in. Our boarders are closed for another month at least so I can’t see any of them apart from FaceTime.
We are on lockdown, currently on our 3rd week heading in to our 4th. We will find out next week how long further we will be in isolation. We seem to be following the UK so probably another 3 weeks on lockdown as what has happened today in the UK.
I was meant to be on the Harmony on the 19th April for my 40th so really gutted but I have rebooked for the 6th December on Allure. I do have another for the Mediterranean but I’m going with my elderly parents so I’ll probably cancel.
Hope you are all ok and stay safe.

Hi grapau
Thanks for your reply.
Are you saying I don't necessarily need to pay my balance and can get a cruise credit from my travel agent for the £300 representing the deposit?
Yes you can but you can't use it as a deposit for another cruise. You will need to pay a new deposit and then put the FCC on top. Sorry, I forgot that this was an option for you too.

Hi Ned
Thanks for your reply.
Will probably pay the balance and hopefully get a refund if RCI cancel the cruise. Our deposit was £300 would rather not lose that if I can help it.
Hope you get to the Med in September and enjoy your other cruise in December.
Regards.
Daddynews
Thank you. I do hope it works out for you.
Stay Safe!

I took a cash refund over the FCC no because I think they will go under, more because I had to pay another deposit and anything over and above the fare would be put to another cruise rather than OBC.
I have already rebooked for the 6th December and awaiting for the refund which will take between 45-60 days.
-
If you pay the full balance and then you decide to cancel, you do have up to 48 hours before the departure date, then you will get 100% FCC. If they cancel, you get 125% FFC or a full cash refund where you won't lose the deposit.
No one is going to be able to tell you whether the cruise is going to go or not, this is going to have to be your decision, though I know it's a hard one.
-
I would pay the remainder and take the FCC if it's not cancelled by RCL. The issue with the FCC is that you will need to pay a new deposit and the remainder will be used from the FCC. If the FCC is higher than the new cruise fare, then that amount over can be used for another cruise. It will not be used at OBC.
I should've been sailing on the 19th April for my 40th and was offered either the 125% FCC or refund. I've taken the refund though I have booked another in December but if I used the FCC, I would've been paying out more.
I also have a Med cruise booked for the 6th September and have until the 13th June to decide whether we pay or not but he deposit was only £25 each when we booked so I won't be losing much if decide to cancel ourselves.
-
I cancelled by cruise on Thursday 2nd April for my cruise on the 19th April. I was told this will take 45-60 days to appear.
I cancelled my flight with Virgin Atlantic and that can take up 100 days!!!

I might be wrong, but I don't think you can. If you send a pm to Royal on their official Facebook site, they can give you the official answer. They reply within minutes there.
Unfortunately not,. I put the soda package in the wrong name and had to cancel and rebook.

The transatlantic shows it was supposed to be a 2 week cruise...so this does not look good for the May 5 sailing, does it?
It doesn’t take 2 weeks to get across the Atlantic. It was stopping in a couple of places on the way over.

In case it doesn't happen automatically, you may need to contact RCI to get the double points.
Thanks for that. I'll make sure that's it's put on afterwards.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to book for two but only me show up. :-)

Yes sometimes booking for 2 is less expensive. You have a few options. #1 call Royal to confirm price. #2 option is adding the second person TBD . #3 Or adding someone and having them be a no show. You would be refunded the taxes.
I have read somewhere about #3 but wasn't sure how it worked. I think it's disgusting that they charge more for a single person than two people.

Pass 3 cruises from Barcelona, they didn't care less. It wasn't very busy either.
