Starbucks gift cards CAN be used. I’ve used mine many times. It’s easier to transfer the gift card to your Starbucks app.

    No standalone Starbucks on Independence.

If my phone will be on airplane mode do you happen to know if I can still use the Starbucks app to pay with my gift card? I can't seem to locate the physical card that I received years ago and curious if you can still pay with the app without service.

  2. Hey everyone! I’m definitely no newbie to cruising, especially Royal Caribbean, but over the last 15 years I’ve never paid attention to their sales and when is best to book. I’ve finally convinced my boyfriend to cruise with me (he was very against them) and figure if I’m going to take him on one I gotta do it right and want to take him on an Oasis class ship in an oceanview balcony room. Based on when works best for us over the next year or so, I saw Oasis of the Seas 7 night Caribbean sailing January 7, 2024 worked within our budget as of yesterday morning. Now I see that even though their sale doesn’t end until the 31st, the pricing jumped to $1000 more today which is outside of our budget now (which I totally understand that pricing can change at any time based on availability, I’m just shocked it jumped so high and not just for balcony rooms, it was all stateroom categories for various dates on that ship). I’m debating now booking Symphony of the Seas 6 night Caribbean sailing January 7, 2024 (which is basically the same itinerary just 1 less port/night). My question essentially is, what is the likelihood the 7 night drops back down in pricing over the next few weeks? I don’t know whether to secure the 6 night to be safe and have a cruise booked in general or take the chance to wait and see if the 7 night drops knowing the 6 night could raise in price too. I’m waiting for a travel agent to get back to me hopefully today, but just thought I’d check on this forum if anyone has any good advice when it comes to their sales and what I should do in this scenario. Thanks so much 🙂!

  3. Best bet is to post to your roll call, so you're targeting people actually sailing with you.

You can check which other ships may be in port with you via slaspa.com, that's the website for St Lucia ports and sea authority. Once you know what other ships, consider posting on their roll calls also.

    Good luck and enjoy.

I did and I also posted in the other cruise ship roll calls (for the boats I could find). Just figured I'd post in the Port forum to see if I got lucky that's all!

  4. Hi all!

We'll be on Adventure of the Seas leaving March 29th! Will anyone else be in St Lucia on Saturday, April 1, 2017? Wanted to see if anyone would be interested in the Joe Knows Land and Sea Tour in St Lucia? Below is the description. My friend did this in February and had an incredible time! I emailed them and he stated they don't book on Saturdays, but will do a private tour if I get at least 6 people!

The ever popular Land & Sea Tour leaves the Castries Harbor at about 9:30am and returns there at about 3:00pm.

The tour travels to Soufriere via speedboat. Along the way, guests will be introduced to the picturesque Marigot Bay, as well as the villages of Anse La Raye, Canaries and Soufriere.

In Soufriere, guests will see the twin mountain peaks of Gros and Petite Piton. Bus shuttles will then take them to the volcano for a fun and therapeutic mud bath and also the rainforest for a refreshing waterfall swim. A sumptuous island buffet lunch follows at a local restaurant set right on the beach. The tour also makes a stop for swimming and snorkeling before getting back to Port Castries.

The charge is inclusive of sea and land transportation, entrance fees, lunch and selective drinks.

Online it states $120 US, but he will give a discount of $100 US if paying cash the day of.

  5. Thanks - I think I've settled on the 10 night. It covers a ton of places I've always wanted to see, and my husband has already researched a few non-beach activities to do with the kids.

We've got our 15th anniversary a few months after the cruise, so this sampler will definitely help us decide which island to return to for our anniversary trip!

March 29th :)? We're on the same cruise! Cannot wait for this 10 night southern, it's been my dream itinerary!!!!

  6. If you are looking for a price drop, checking anybody's web site but the cruise line's is a waste of time. Reductions are based on what you actually paid versus what the cruise line is currently charging. They don't price match. If a travel agency has a "group pricing" their rate might be hundreds of dollars lower.

Agreed! I also know that no website is allowed to sell the actual cruise for cheaper than what the cruise is advertising for. TA's are able to give you extra perks (TA group rates, OBC, specialty restaurants, etc), but they can't sell you a cruise cheaper than what the cruise line is advertising for.

  7. I asked our TA to check and our price went up by $100 but we would've gotten $100 in OBC. So it was a wash. Congratulations to all who benefited from this promotion.

Oh no! Well I hope you got the cruise for a reasonable price in the first place! We did save a ton of money, but we originally had a class M interior booked on deck 9 of Adventure and switched to a class Q guarantee for this deal. Yes, I know we probably won't get the best location, but to save $555 CAD and get $200 USD OBC, I figured it was a no brainer! It would be a different story if we had a balcony, or even an ocean view for that matter, but all we need is an interior (we're still young, 25, we just need a place to sleep after all the drinks lol).

  8. It went into effect just recently within the past couple of months...We were on Adventure in May and docked at Havensight...going to miss docking there...not a fan of Crown Bay :(

Same! I literally just found out information on the local Dollar Bus to go to the North East beaches, would rather pay $2 each way than $10 each way! Anyone know if the bus passes by Crown Bay?

  9. We will be on a cruise which docks in Nassau from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. I was looking into going to the water park at Atlantis on our own but I don't know if we would really have enough time there to be worth it. They have day passes for $129 but we'd have to find our own transportation to and from the ship. The ship has their own excursion for this but it's $189 and does provide transportation. If anyone has done this excursion or have gone to the Atlantis water park on their own, please tell me if you think this is worth doing. Thanks.

The water park is awesome, we travelled there by ourselves 2 years ago and paid the resort directly (can't remember the exact cost of a taxi). But just a heads up, as far as I'm aware the park doesn't open until 10am, so you'd be spending $130-$190 for only 2 hours or even less than that!

  10. It was from co-op culture and you do have the ability to print at home after you purchase.

Amazing just went to purchase and saved our tickets!! Thank you SO much for your review, it really helped. Definitely going to pre-purchase Capri ferry tickets just in case. Do you remember approximately what time the ferry was heading back to Naples? Trying to decide which time to pick.

  11. Hi guys,

I'm already home from the trip, and have done a report that you can find here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2251756

If I don't cover what you are asking in that report, please let me know and I'll se if I have any info saved from the trip. :)

Hi there! When you pre-purchased your tickets for the Colosseum was it from the official website, Coop Culture? They state if you buy tickets online you can only pick up the tickets there. I'm wanting to purchase tickets and print them off at home in advance. Any advice?

  12. Hi all,

We were lucky enough to upgrade from an oceanview cabin to a balcony cabin thanks to my parents as a birthday gift! We're booked into MSC Preziosa in cabin 8123. I know that Bella balcony staterooms on deck 8 aren't ideal due to the lifeboat views, however are you still able to see the ocean for the most part? Anyone have photos they can share?

    TIA!

  13. Hi all,

I'm looking to organize a Calanques boat tour on Friday, October 9th, 2015 from Merseille and was wondering if anyone was interested? It would include skipper, petrol, water and sodas, wet suits, snorkelling gear and we would visit many Calanques between Marseille and Cassis, including a cave, islands and other beautiful places. Boarding is at Marseille Vieux Port at 2:00PM, returning 6:30PM, and the price is 48.75€ per person. I am looking for 6 more people to join.

    Thanks so much!
