I always bring a stack of dollar bills in my bag by the pool, at the bar, etc. believe me, they remember you and come back quicker for service. :)
I saw my room steward on my last cruise later the evening we got on board and I actually had to go introduce myself. The next time I saw him is when he knocked on our door at 7:15am the last day. lol. I usually tip a little extra to them but this was the one time I did not.
Being that it was crazy spring break week last week, I always included extra dollar bills for the wait staff at the bar. I felt so bad for them with all the drunk college kids.

I was just on the Victory. We had chosen the 12pm boarding but got the delay email. We ended up getting there at 1 anyway, they started the boarding promptly at 1:30, and it moved really fast. We were on board by 2ish...

I just got off the Victory yesterday. It is in great shape. I was on Lido deck 9, and my room was renovated and beautiful.
Food was as good as remembered. (I havent been on carnival for 14 years) Selections are limited but good.
Entertainment was top notch!! We loved David Brennan in the lobby bar, Andy Hackbarth in the Piano Bar, and both stage shows were amazing.
It was prime spring break crowd, so it was about 80% college kids, so I felt bad for the staff. I do not think there were a lot of newer cruisers that understood how hard the staff works and did not tip accordingly. A few incidents were the kids could not hold their booze, but the staff and security was quick to resolve and take care of it.

I was on the ship about 20 minutes after the Faster to the fun people, so not sure if the cost is worth it?
The staff keeps saying all of the cabins are upgraded.
The ship looks great. The weather was perfect but there was a LOT of spring breakers!! They were pretty crazy but entertaining. I felt bad because the college kids were terrible tippers. Keep in mind how hard all these people work for you!!
Day at sea right now, very windy but warm!!

On the Victory right now. All cabins completed. I am on the lido deck. We had the delay but they started boarding right at 1:30. We got to the terminal at 12:30 and we were onboard by 2.

I am on Deck 9 on March 6th and we will not have the renovation and they would not let me move cabins due to our discount rates. Oh well. We are very close to the pool! I will miss not having a fridge though.

I think I might call about switching.... Seeing how beautiful the new rooms are. It would be worth it to climb an extra set of stairs for the fridge in your room.

Is it worth it to have a room with the upgrades or just stay with 9? My room probably wont have a Mini-Fridge or Flat Screen. Anything else?

We just got our Cabin assignment for our March 6th Cruise and were put on the Lido Deck (9) Does that mean all the upgrades have been done to the lower decks first? Are they going in that order?

bumping this up... MY TA is going to put us at a large table with other single parents, but I guess I would like other families, along as the kids are the same age.... so we will have to see what happens. What has everyone's experience traveling single with kids and being placed at a table by Disney?
NCL website question - Excursions
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
I have a Western Carribean cruise schedule on the Epic on November 17th. The stops include Private Island, Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios Jamaica. When I go to the NCL site to look at excursions offered, it is not giving any options for Grand Cayman or Ocho Rios, its just not listed at all as a cruise port under "shore excursions". My cruise is still 200 days out, will the excursions just eventually "show up" closer to the cruise? I would call NCL but have been on hold forever and gave up.
