My husband did it on the Allure last year. Although he seemed to see and learn a lot of interesting things, he felt that it wasn't worth it. There were some areas he hoped to see that they didn't visit. He was very excited for it, and was just disappointed when it was over.

I have to agree with Giovanni's. We ate there twice on the Allure, we loved it. The tiramisu is SO good, as was everything else we tried!

I love your idea of the wings and beer joint. The only meal we had last year on the Allure that we did not enjoy was at Rita's. We were maybe 1 of 3 tables there at dinner time. We will be on the Oasis in a month, and we don't plan to try the seafood shack.
Also, as someone from the Jersey Shore, I agree that they could have played around a bit more with the boardwalk idea when it comes to food. We LOVED the hot dogs on the Allure and we are disappointed the Oasis won't have them.

I am curious about this too. The first two times we sailed we had the late seating and really enjoyed it. On our upcoming cruise in 6 weeks, we are booked with my time dining and just thinking that having to make a reservation every night will be a hassle. Also, we love having the same waiter every night and we are worried about how MTD will be different.

So very excited for your review! My husband and I hope to have a little one within the next year or 2 and we always talk about whether or not cruising with a little one would be a good idea, can wait to read your take on it :)

We are cruising on the Oasis next month out of Fort Lauderdale. We are flying in the day before and interested in renting a car for the day at the airport. I think this will be more convenient for us instead of doing multiple taxis throughout the day.
If I understand correctly, we can rent a car at the airport when we land, and then drop it off at the cruise terminal the day of our cruise and they will shuttle us to the ship? (Of course we will be sure to choose a rental company that does business at the terminal.)
Does anyone here have experience doing this, and any advice to offer? Maybe a specific company to go with?
Thanks!

We never experienced any overly crowded areas on the Allure, I was very surprised. The only time we did experience any large groups of people were after shows let out, especially around the elevators. I would warn you about breakfast in the Windjammer, always packed, but it was never impossible to find a table. As for chairs by the pool, there are SO MANY, you will not have a problem with that.

If your wife wants to switch, do it! Allure is a gorgeous ship. We honeymooned on her in March and it was amazing. Splurge for your honeymoon! The shows were outstanding, as were all of the dining options.
What exactly are you allowed to take on board?

I was browsing through Royal Caribbean's facebook page a few days ago and someone asked about bringing bottled water on-board. Royal responded with "yes, as long as it is a reasonable amount." I assume since many people here have stated that they were able to bring on a case, that is what they would consider a reasonable amount. I don't know why they would tell you otherwise over the phone. Also, we had a couple packages of snacks that we brought on last year (not purposely, but just because we happened to have them with us from our pre-port stop), but I don't remember if we had them in our carry on or our luggage that was brought to our room. Either way, we didn't have a problem.
