Mary Ann, I have just picked up your thread. We arrived in New York yesterday ahead of our cruise on Whisper on Thursday - bad planning, you getting off as we get on! Good to know you are enjoying Whisper so much and so sorry not to be meeting up with you. Maggie x

This is something that has been concerning me, as my husband and I are booked on Silver Whisper's cruise from New York to Barbados on 2nd November included in the itinerary are visits to St. Marten (overnight) and St. Barts. I shall be very interested to know Silversea's proposals although am sure that we will not find out until nearer the time.

My husband is 70 in February, we want a cruise from Southampton. The only two on offer are Oriana to Norway and the Northern Lights in an outside cabin or Ventura to the Canaries in a deluxe balcony during half term week. We have only ever sailed on Arcadia which we love. We obviously would prefer an adult only ship. Would Ventura be teeming with children at this time? My husband is a bit put off visiting the Arctic because of the cold. Any advice?

B111. That is what I was originally told but there were a couple left on B deck of a higher grade but of course more expensive. We had B82 in May this year and it was excellent. B111 is larger 480 square feet so we thought we would go for it on a 24 day cruise you need some space!

Thank you. That is extremely helpful. I have also read your review of the cabin and the photographs. Would you say that the balcony for this mini suite was more narrow than the 'usual' width of a balcony cabin on Arcadia?

We are booked for the 24 day trip on Arcadia on 25th November to the Caribbean. We thought we might upgrade from a Balcony cabin to a Mini Suite and are told that the only one available is S2 which is on the Sun Deck. Has anyone ever had this mini suite? If so could you please tell me the pros and cons. It seems to be large but seems to only have a shower and we would also like to know what the soundproofing is like. Many thanks in advance

"feeling" is a nice way to put it - in all aspects throughout the ship. Chef/food question has been answered by others with different opinions, just as in all things.
