  1. I would have been very easy to miss the lady with the cabin no. tags at Glasgow! There were two queues to check in and she stood to one side of one queue and only seemed to be giving the envelopes to people who actually went up and asked for them. She was not asking people if they were on the cruise. Not having had them at the airport before we were not specifically looking out for them but being nosy I wondered what she was doing! After a minute I realised what it was and remembered reading on FB that they were given out at the airport for Discovery. I really don't think everyone in those two queues got their tags although I did tell some people standing near us.

Same at Cardiff. I noticed people with tags on their luggage and then saw a lady at a Thomson Cruise stand giving them out.

  2. Went into TA and she was unaware of any changes to itinerary even though she had Marina de Carerra on her screen and I had La Spezia on my paperwork. She phoned Thomsons who confirmed M d C and they seemed unaware of the fact that Day 5 was a sea day on the web site (Thomson lady was going to email relevant dept to update...). I had an updated itinerary emailed through by the time I got home. Happy now :)

  3. We bought our Kuna at the Post Office, about £40 worth. We did the Castle and Cave tour in Slovenia. The caves were amazing, but a bit of a scrum at the entrance as we couldn't find our guide! We had time to walk into town in the afternoon where there was a Farmer's Market on. In Venice we used the full day transfer, straight off the ship onto the water "bus" and dropped off just a couple of bridges away from St Marks Square. Zadar we just walked around, a nice town with lots of history and the sea organ. Dubrovnik we had a taxi to the old town, walked up to the cable car, had a meal, etc. bus back to the port. There is a big supermarket in the port if you need to stock up! Kotor has the best sail in. Another lovely town and easy to DIY.

  5. Hi All

Had a message from Thomsons this morning...

"I've contacted our Cruise Team this morning who've advised that they're working with the Venetian authorities in regards to putting alternative plans into place for any cruises upcoming. However this will not affect your cruise with us."

Hope it all works out as I would be disappointed to miss out on Venice.
