With 1.5 days, I would head to Huntington Beach and enjoy the area. Only 20 minutes to the port and tons of things to do. Go down Main Street and see gorgeous young girls in skimpy bikinis. If you had any game, you could score with these girls easily. By the morning, you would need to find the morning after pill to prevent pregnancies. My buddies would offer our services for free as armcandy for the girls. Always ended up at a nude pool party with lots of drinks. Great times.

It's possible

If you want to stay in Hollywood, I would recommend Chateau Marmont. Great location. Every time I have stayed there, I've seen celebrities. Last time, we had drinks with Scott Baio.

39,000 industry professionals think he deserved an award. Got no problem with that.

Just curious how you get the stockholder OBC applied to your booking when you book the morning of the sailing, or even the day before? I am retiring soon and live within driving distance of 5 cruise ports, so I see A LOT of last minute cruises in my future :)
I send a pdf copy and a fax of my stock statement while I'm on the line with Carnival.

Any sports bar will have the game on.

what is this?
A martini made with Belvedere vodka.
-
Gee, did that still qualify for stockholders benefit?
Yes.

How do you go about booking that morning? What sort of discount do you pay?
I did it a lot when I lived in Long Beach. Was successful about 25% of the time. 3 or 4 day Mexico cruise was about $99 before taxes.

The best breakfast in San Francisco is at The Hollywood Cafe in the fishermans wharf area.

No pool table on the Dream.

For some reason our roll call for the February 6th, 2015 Carnival Triumph only has 9 members. Has this happened often or is there something I'm missing?
How can I increase involvement in the roll call?
For a cruise that left almost a year ago?

Fine jewelry involves precious stones: diamonds, rubies, sapphires, etc. - not semi-precious such as opal, garnet, etc.; and precious metal: platinum, gold (probably at least 14 kt.) not copper, silver, etc.
Silver is a precious metal.

That's not almost last minute. It's 4 months away. I've booked several cruises on the morning of sailing. Now, that's almost last minute.

Yeah I would assume that it's okay since you can use the temporary ID in a bar or when buying alcohol from a store. The only reason I would bring an extra form of ID just in case is because everyone isn't always up to speed on things and I would hate for them to give you a hard time

A bar and US Customs and Immigration are two totally different levels.

On the Dream, it was in a quieter part of the galley. I thought it would be horrible, but it was actually very cool to watch them prepare our meal.

FYI, Walmart has announced that the store in downtown Long Beach (5th and LB Blvd) is one of 269 nationwide that will close. Since it's recommended on this board for pre-cruise supplies, be sure you have a Plan B. It will close on Jan 28 which probably means they are not re-stocking and transferring inventory to nearby stores.
If you don't have a Plan B pill, they are available at most drugstores.

The last time we are at the chef's table was in April on the Dream. It was on day 4 and there was only 10 people signed up. Awesome experience.

We don't.

We have never given a tip at the beginning of a cruise. We usually pull the auto tips and tip those that serve us in person at the end of the cruise.

If it makes money now, it won't be free later.

We have found that the best deals are about 2-3 weeks before the stay.

Carnival's limit is zero bottles.

Hello,
Before the Forum Police school me, I did search the forums but only found a couple of ideas...
My family and I are travelling with connecting OV staterooms. The plan is to put the kids in one room, my Wife and I in the other. Our concern is how to child proof the stateroom hallway door in order to prevent adventurous 3-year old twins from opening it in the middle of the night. We'll keep the connecting doors open but I still want to be able to prevent the kids from opening the stateroom door. I know the doors are heavy, but you would not believe what these girls are capable of!
Anyway, if anyone has any advice how to child-proof the door with mechanical devices, etc, I'm all ears.
Also, any other thoughts about child proofing the stateroom would be appreciated.
Thank you!
Duct tape and bailing wire works for anything.
Low CDN dollar how many CDNs are still cruising

Living in the states, we have decided not to take a winter cruise this year. Instead, we just got home from a ski trip to Whistler BC. Enjoyed the low Canadian dollar. We also bought 5k in Cdn $ @ 1.43 to enjoy another trip this summer.
