  1. Do you think it would be the same if I brought a bunch of dollar bills to tip? I was thinking about doing that instead of signing a receipt...

Dollar bills work great. What I do is fold them up and hold on to them underneath my key card. When the bartender takes my card he/she feels the bills and then indiscreetly slides the bills into their pant pocket. I then will receive back a nod of their head and a smile along with supurb service for the entire cruise.

  2. Sorry Doug, but this just isn't true. I wouldn't want a new cruiser to RCI to read your comments above and think they are true - they simply are not true in any way.

I will be a new cruiser to RCI. Just booked the Brilliance's 12/28/15 sailing. What should a guy pack for this New Years cruise? If it was NCL I would be wearing just a collared shirt with dress slacks. Will I need a suit or my tux for this sailing?

  3. I am interested in taking the metro from Miami airport to hotel. I havent seen anyone suggest this as a possible alternative to shuttle or taxi. It looks like a couple could save 20 or more dollars by doing this, Is there some problem I am unaware about?

I may not be 100% accurate but I think it travels thru and has stops in some not so nice neighborhoods where you will stick out like a sore thumb as a tourist with your luggage.

  4. Yes, it happened to us. Booked a cruise on the Victory in January with $100 OBC from TA with the ES rate. Each time a price drop happens and TA submits a claim to Carnival the OBC from the TA is reduced by a portion of the price drop. Just had another $60 drop in cabin price and now we only have $25 left in TA OBC.

  5. Sigh.

Looked at my account on the NCL website. I'm listed as "past guest" with no history. Sent the notification to them to fix it. I'm not worried, I'm not concerned. If it's not fixed by the time I leave for my next cruise in September, though, someone's getting an earful...

My wife and I have both lost are silver status. It's ridiculous. I have called NCL three times. First time rep said they would send Latitudes dept an email on our behalf to reinstate us and it would take a week. Two weeks went by and nothing was corrected so I called again. This time the rep again said they would email the Latitudes dept and a fix would happen in two business days. After a week nothing still. So I called the third time. The third rep said it would be better for me to email the Latitudes dept my self and provide all our past cruise history and include our invoices. It's been another two weeks and still have zero points. This all started on 1/2/14. I am basically ready to cancel our Sun cruise for November as this is terrible customer service that shouldn't take this long to fix nor should they be ignoring their customers. They screwed things up not us. We just don't know what else to do. Anybody have any suggestions?

  6. The hotel that we have stayed at for the last 5 years is no longer available to us. This has thrown us for a loop. This was a last minute cruise we booked on Saturday and we fly to MIA on Wednesday get on the ship Thursday. I went to book the hotel last night and it is not in the system. I know when we first started to cruise out of MIA not a lot of hotels did airport and POM. We found one and we have never gone anywhere else.

Looking for a hotel that will pick us up at the airport MIA and then take us to the port the next morning. Would prefer a marriott brand hotel or Choice brand hotel. We have points for both brands. Free is good.

I am starting all over and just have a day to book us a room. I dont want big and fancy (If it is cheap then ok) just a place to sleep and that will get us to the POM by11.

We have stayed several times at the Marriott airport campus that has a Courtyard, Marriott, and Residence Inn. They have a free shuttle from airport. Shuttle the next morning was $11 person.

  7. We have Cruised on the above Ship 8 Times + we love the Crew, The Entertainment + we have found the food Excellent. As a Matter of Fact we are returning to Cruise on this vessel again December 8th to December 15th, 2013.
