  1. Hello all - Looking forward to the Celebrity experience next week on the Silhouette 4 day out of Miami!

Few questions for the Celebrity aficionados:

I am traveling solo for relaxation but eager to experience shows, casino and spa- anyone have any recent positive experiences in these areas?

I have a bid on the upgrade screen that says "pending"...does this truly mean it may go thru a week out? or should I count that out completely

Any particular reasons why everyone here is loyal to the Celebrity line? I am a loyal NCL cruiser and decided to try something new, hoping for a nice experience.

Let me thank everyone for their thoughtful posts and wealth of information these boards provide. I appreciate everyones time to pen all the details.

Happy 2023 ! and Happy Cruising

  2. I cruised Independece and Oasis and what I believe Royal does well is family oriented integrated activities. The shows and entertainment was truly outstanding. The cabins were well laid out and furnished nicely. There were so many areas to gather and wander around. My biggest complaint was the food - however- I am possibly the worst of the worst in terms of picky eaters. My husband thought the food was great.

In terms of a family trip, aside from Disney Cruise Line, Royal is a good value for the money.

And the staff really does work very hard for their wages, and at the end of it all, that’s what I appreciate the most.

  3. I am 100% with you on elevated luxury. We are willing to spend hard earned money on elevated accoutrements, but the main stream lines are adding so many fees now and upcharges that it makes sense to pay more inclusive up front. It’s all part of our changing global economy, consumers have a more disecerning palate at this point. I am returning to a Princess Cruise after cruising Royal, and NCL the past 10 years. I hope to be impressed yet I know that the cruise experience is not what it used to be.

I’ve been pursuing the Seabone and Crystal boards recently- my only trepidation is that we will be in the minority of young travelers on those lines.

  4. Thanks for spreading the positivity! I will follow the tip for chefs table, that sounds really lovely.

And really now- all these postitive predictive responses remind me that one cannot place a heavy weight on negative reviews.

The crown holds 3k passengers and there’s just a little over 1600 reviews 😏.

The most memorable part about the Princess product was how it had a laid back yet luxury vibe. I enjoyed the other trips we took on NCL and carnival, even RCCL although I was not a fan of the mega ship. Simply too many people.

  5. Very excited, nervous, pensive, you name it! For cruising on the Crown at the end of this month. My first cruise with The Caribbean princess was simply magical. And then we expanded our experiences to Carnival, NCL, and RCCL. We stopped cruising for the past 6 years as we made a more permanent move to the USVIs. Hurricanes Maria and Irma have turned our island on it’s side for the time being and my husband and I said - let’s book an extravagant cruise on silver sea or regent ....BUT wait!! What about my magical first cruise ever:cool: please let’s consider princess. And now we are 13 days away. I’ve scoured the boards asking questions, learning the layout and the precipice is really this ::: will we have the best time ever🦄🦄🦄. I’ve halted my eyes to read only positive vibes and wild fun adventures with new friends The only real letdown was that we booked too late for a suite 😔

Looking forward to meeting pax and crew- Dr sarah & sean 💯☀️

  6. Excellent review! Love your rich descriptions and honest opinions, truly does make one wonder about all of the bad reviews  I believe you're correct when you ponder: "what do these disdained people eat" when the complaints run rampant.

It also sounds like your travel group was LOTS of fun!

    Cheers and thank you

Thank you for your kind reply and reflecting on your experiences as you have traveled different cruise lines - have a wonderful upcoming journey

And yes - I suppose we have been fortunate to be sophisticated from the ages of 2 and 8.

I spoke with a very helpful rep today about the Tahitian itinerary and as soon as we confirm our schedules we will go ahead and book. I am very much looking forward to a more personal and intimate adventure sans the “masses”

Wishing all a merry and bright holiday season

  8. good morning My husband and I have been traveling for decades now looking for the ultimate luxury, relaxing, intimate experience. A trip that will just blow our minds and I think we found it!!

The Tahiti itinerary seems to fit our needs to a T.

My question is - will we be the youngest passengers ? ( age 29 & 35)

We aren’t the party types- more of the swim and go on adventures all day and then relax with a nice dinner. And log some spa time

I would love to hear from other young guests and their impressions.

    Cheers
