  1. We are 3 hours from Mobile, Alabama. We stopped and got gas. Long story short, there was diesel in the unleaded pump. We are at a pep boys and one of the mechanics volunteered to take my husband 30 minutes away to a car rental place. (Budget). We booked a hotel that had a park and cruise package. My problem is that I don't know how we are going to get the rental car from the hotel back to another budget. The closest one is at the airport. We can take it there but then we won't be able to get to the cruise terminal. I'm sorry I am not thinking straight. I checked Uber and it said $38 from the airport to the cruise terminal. Does this sound like the best way to do this? I am 8 hours from home [emoji22]

  2. My husband and I are going on our first cruise without our kids. We would like to find a nice beach that we can take a taxi to, relax, and get some good food. A good snorkeling spot would be a plus, as we have our own equipment. Thanks in advance.

  3. We brought 4 suitcases full of school supplies on our last cruise. I emailed carnival ahead of time and they were expecting it when we got there. When we got to the port, we were ushered into a room with authorities and customs. I had previously filled out everything that was in the suitcases. It was very formal. The way they were combing over everything I was afraid that they weren't going to allow it... but they did :)

  4. I have ready many conflicting answers on the cost of Paradise beach. Some say free, others $3, and $5. I know the water toys are an additional $15. How much is the admission fee.

We will bringing our own snorkel equipment and will purchase food/drinks there.

Also, how much would a taxi be for 4 adults and two children?

Thank you for your help :)

  5. If you watch the site closely, they run a lot of specials all the time...buy 1 get 1 for $1. Take advantage of this and save a lot of $$.

Also the times we have been and swam with the dolphins, they also included the swim with the manatees for free!

Also, if you pay for the swims, then your admission to the park is included with that price, so you won't have to pay the $21/$19 on top of that price.

mitsugirly, which site are you looking at? Is it this one? http://www.cozumelparks.com/eng/chankanaab.cfm I have been going to it for a couple of months and haven't found any specials. Is there another site? In fact, this site doesn't give much info at all... so I am thinking it is the wrong site. If it gets deleted, it is the Cozumel parks dot com site.

  6. Did you check out my other cruise reviews linked below for ideas? We had the same itinerary on the Norwegian Jewel cruise last year and I give detailed picture reviews for each port: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2169332

You asked how people dressed for Elegant Night. It was your typical Carnival cruise. I would guess 20% wore suits and cocktail/formal dresses. Most wore "dressy" dresses with the guys wearing ties. And then about 20% were probably under dressed. Since we had Your Time dining, we less structured folks may also be the less formal. I suspect the assigned dining room may have been a little more formal. My family used to really get dressed up with suits and cocktail dresses. Packing for this was a pain. Here is our semi-elegant photo (notice that I even let my son wear his tennis shoes - shame)

Reading your reviews now! Thanks for the info!!!

  7. Loving the review. We are aboard the Sunshine on 4/11.

So far I have booked cave tubing at Belize. We might go to paradise beach in Cozumel.

Still looking for inspiration in Roatan and Costa Maya.

Could you tell me how "elegant" people dress on the elegant nights? Our last couple of cruises hardly anyone dressed up. The women mostly had sundresses on. We have never been on the Sunshine.

Looking forward to the rest of your review.
