  1. Linda, I have been taking my Ipad on the last few cruises and do use it on board. My live threads were all done on the Ipad. Prior to the Ipad, I took my netbook. I saw no difference in the connectivity. The Ipad worked great for me. Prinsendam's internet seemed much better to me on the last cruise, but my favourite place (if I had to do a lot of stuff) to go was the Crow's Nest - for the views, the comfy chairs and the wifi there :)

Last time it was fine in the room with the door closed. Time before, I had to open the door a crack for some reason.

We have always done well with Holland, but didn't know if the Prinsendam was as up-to-date with their internet connectivity. This helps and since we won't be doing as much "work" on board ship on this cruise sitting up in the crows nest is always a nice thing to do - get an espresso and a cookie - life can't get any better :) Thanks for your help.

  2. This walking tour is no longer available online. I have the PDF file of the walking tour. If you EMAIL me (see signature at bottom of post), I will send it to you. Please don't post on this forum with your email address and assume that I will email the PDF. I rarely check this thread.

I sent an email and the person who responded said that they didn't have the walking tour of amsterdam. My email address is lindajfriend @ cox.net - if you see this great - if not - at least I tried. Have a great day,

  3. I have started to put together a second walking tour of Amsterdam and I would like suggestions about additional attractions, etc. We will be leaving shortly for a trip to Europe and Amsterdam will be part of this. So, I intend to do the walking tour I came up with and should have more input in a couple months.

Meanwhile some of you might have a look at the following http://www.********.com/amsterdam2.html

Keep in mind that the total length of this walk is less than three miles. So there is plenty of room for some expansion, unless you like to spend extra time at the museums.

Is it possible to still receive the walking tour that you have put together. It would be very much appreciated.

  4. Tallinn, Estonia, is a great place to see on foot. It is a medieval town with old walls, buildings and churches that just beg to be explored. A walking tour on your own is very doable and advisable for this great city.

I have had many people ask me if it was ok to print the walking tour I have put together for Tallinn. And, of course, that is fine. But to make this easier I have also converted them to pdf format. That means that there are no nasty page breaks and you can print the pages you want. I have done the same for the walking tours of Bruges, Belgium, and Amsterdam. If you like to have a look, go to the following web pages and click on the pdf links shown on the first page. To download the pdf files be patient, they take a bit longer.

    For Tallinn go to

    http://www.********.com/tallinnwalk.html

    For Bruges it is

    http://www.********.com/Brugge%205.html

    And for Amsterdam

    http://www.********.com/Amsterdam.html

Enjoy the Baltic cities and your days at sea.

Hi there - can you tell m e what the ******* should be replaced with - whenever I click on these nothing comes up. Any help would be appreciated. thanks so much, Linda

  5. LB, these were great - we are planning to go to Amsterdam after our cruise on June 24th, so we will use your walking tour for both Tallinn and Amsterdam.

We are also stopping in Helsinki, Stockholm, Kiel (which we plan to go to Lubeck from there) and Warnemunde (which we plan to go to Rostov) - we thought we would do touring on our own in each of these places and do either a Holland America excursion in St. Petersburg or a local excursion - any more suggestions/guidance. Thanks so much
