  1. We are interested in doing Sea Trek in Roatan. Between the Sea Trek website and the Gumbalimba Park website, it is very difficult to figure out how to register.

Has anyone successfully registered and done this? How did you find success to register?

    Thanks!

  2. Thanks for asking! I am happy to share specifics with you and grateful you are willing to help make this a great trip for us.

Let's see, there will be my mom and stepdad (60's), my hubs and I and our daughters, 5 and 9. We will need 2 rooms. My sister, DH and their kids 17 and 14 might be joining us too but we aren't sure yet. They will have their own room, too, of course. We are arriving at 2pm-ish so having somewhere to walk would be wonderful, although a hotel with a pool would also be enough to fill our day. We would need somewhere to do dinner, though.

We will need our hotel for the night of July 18th. Does this help.

    Thanks again!!

  3. Hey there! My mom is treating us to this amazing cruise out of the PoM, so I'm trying to do everything I can to honor her requests. We are flying into Miami a day early for our Saturday cruise and want to stay at a hotel with complimentary shuttles from the airport and to the port. BUT, here's the kicker, she would rather not stay TOO close to the airport and have to listen to planes taking off and landing all night and morning.

Any recommendations for a hotel that ticks all these boxes, free shuttles and not too close to the airport?? Oh, and breakfast and wifi would be a plus, no one said my mom was low-maintenance!

    Thanks!

  4. Hello! We cruised 2 years ago on the Carnival Liberty and loved everything about it. We are considering trying something new and are looking into the Caribbean Princess. But we were really spoiled by the amazing children's programs on the Carnival ship and are wondering what Princess has to offer? Their website was pretty vague, which I'm not taking as a good sign.

Thanks for any information you can give me!

**Sorry, found more information, but would love to hear your firsthand experiences!**

  5. My suggestion is to buy a pack of Bonine, which is like Dramamine but doesn't cause drowsiness. I took a half-pill every morning of both of our 7-day cruises and was fine (except one particularly rough night, when I had to take a second pill), and I am hugely prone to motion sickness. You can also take ginger pills every day on top of the Bonine.

    Hope this helps!

  6. If you are flying into FLL and sailing out of POM, another option is to rent a car at FLL. Hertz has a location close to the POM and they offer a shuttle from their location to POM. I only paid $30 last month (Feb 2012) for a rental car for the 1 day rental, and it was great as it gave us the freedom to go out a little way for the hotel and stop and get what we had forgotten without paying extra for a taxi. If you have a VISA card, look on the VISA site for a coupon.

There is a gas station about 2 blocks from the Hertz location.

This is a great idea, except there will either be 6 or 10 of us, with all our bags. If we can find a decent price on a van or two, we would be OK with this.

  7. Are you sure they will drive you to the Port of Miami for free? This is a 45-60 minute drive and there are no hotels that do this free as far as I know. Maybe they told you they had a shuttle but it will be for a charge. Or is it possible that they have a free ride to Pt Everglades in Ft Lauderdale? Some of the hotels have a free ride to Pt Everglades, but not Miami.

Sorry, I can repost. The Comfort Inn has a "Port of Miami Package" that includes a shuttle to the port, so no it's not free. Sorry, I wasn't clear at all in my original post.

So yes, there are definitely hotels that do this, but I'm sure they aren't free, just included in the room rate. I am looking for one of those. The Comfort Inn won't allow us to book until April, so I was seeing what other options are open.

Will repost to the Florida boards, thanks everyone!

  8. Has anyone chosen to stay overnight in Fort Lauderdale and stayed at a hotel that drove you for free to the Port of Miami?

We found one, the Comfort Inn, but does anyone know of any others? We will be flying into Ft. Lauderdale late on a Friday evening and prefer to stay there before heading down to our cruise in Miami.

Thanks for sharing, if you have any information.
