Any updates on what’s going on aboard Anthem of the Seas? 🤔 Did anyone happen to see the Cruise Compass for today posted on FB?

Really do appreciate 👍 all of those with social media connections relaying the information here to CC.

I'm still waiting for it to be posted. It was also mentioned that the ship has been elevated to color yellow on the CDC Cruise Ship Status. https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/cruise/cruise-ship-color-status.html

    • Thanks 1
  2. I loved dan dan. And the song he sang at the goodbye show[emoji22][emoji24]

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

I was on the same cruise and heard him since an operetta at the crew talent show. He has an amazing voice and I don't think anyone was expecting him to sing it in Italian.

  3. Thank you so much - we leave on Sunday and this is so helpful to help plan ahead! I noticed 8724 on the top - we are in 8722 so any info you have about the cabin is appreciated.

This is the 3rd time we've been in a M6 on the Breakaway. You'll love the size of the balcony. It has two longe chairs, two regular chairs and a table. One thing I would suggest you bringing is some lysol or febreze to use on the toilet. It looks clean but it smells like a public urinal. You will probably have the same room steward we had, I think his name was Emerson or something close to that. :) He was very helpful and nice. The downside of the room is it's a really long walk down a narrow hallway and I believe the crew has a lounge at the end of the hall since we always noticed a parade of all employee types coming and going from there. Let me know if there's anything else you wish to know. Enjoy your trip.

  4. The last time I was on the BA was 2 years ago and I wasn't able to connect to the Dockyard wifi from my balcony, but here is the info on that wifi:

Royal Naval Dockyard (Kings Wharf & Heritage Wharf)

Entire dockyard in Bermuda is now Wi-Fi enabled. Since February 2012, West End Development Corporation (WEDCO) has launched high speed wi-fi connectivity jointly with the telecom service provider TeleBermuda International (TBI). The high speed wi-fi is available through out the dockyard including Kings Wharf and Heritage Wharf. So if you have a smart phone, Ipad or a laptop supporting wireless connectivity, you can now easily connect to the internet at the dockyard. The service is available for all including cruise ship passengers, crew, visitors to the dockyard and locals. Rates are 1hr=$3, 24hrs=$9.99, 72hrs=$14.99. There are monthly rates available as well. Once you connect to the wireless service, search for WiFiZone by TBi network and visit their page. You can then pay online with your credit card.

  5. I believe when you buy the wifi package, it comes with instructions to set your phone to airplane mode and turn on wifi. This is to prevent you from using your carrier's service. Like others have mentioned, phone calls are not included in the wifi plan unless she had other apps installed to allow her to make calls over the internet. She would have had to turn off airplane mode to make phone calls through her carrier which would have triggered the Verizon charges.

  6. I would recommend using a car service rather than a metered taxi cab for the drive from JFK to the Wall Street area.

Depending on the time of day, traffic could be very heavy going into lower Manhattan from the airport.

You could be stuck in bumper to bumper traffic with the taxi meter clicking away.

Better to use the car service for a flat rate plus tip.

Taxi fares from JFK to anywhere in Manhattan is a flat rate, so traffic would not have an effect on how much your final fare is.

    http://www.nyc.gov/html/tlc/html/passenger/taxicab_rate.shtml

To/From JFK and any location in Manhattan:

    • Onscreen rate is ‘Rate #02 – JFK Airport.’
    • This is a flat fare of $52 plus tolls, the 50-cent MTA State Surcharge, the 30-cent Improvement Surcharge, and $4.50 rush hour surcharge (4 PM to 8 PM weekdays, excluding legal holidays).
    • Passenger is responsible for paying all tolls.
    • Please tip your driver for safety and good service.

  7. I have been on 12 Princess and 8 NCL (+1 more this Summer), the main reason we switched to NCL was because they are more geared to families with younger children (which we had, now 13 and 16).

    Here are my personal observations:

    Princess

    1. Better overall service

    2. Quieter

    3. Geared to an older crowd

    4. From the recent menus I've seen, the food choices are much more diverse

    NCL

    1. Freestyle Dining (eat anytime and anywhere)

    2. No Formal/Semi-Formal nights (may be seen as a positive or negative)

    3. With the UBP (open bar), you have more rowdy people

    4. Livelier atmosphere

The main reasons we have stayed with NCL so far is that Princess leaves the Caribbean during the Summer and NCL sails from The Manhattan Cruise Terminal (10-15 minute cab ride from home).

  8. How does it work if u want to pay the extra and eat at Ocean Blue?

Specialty dining packages are honored in Cagney's Steakhouse, Moderno Churrascaria, Teppanyaki and our French, Mexican and Italian restaurants across the fleet. Guests who have purchased the package may also choose to dine in other select à la carte priced restaurants, entertainment-based restaurants, Bayamo, Pincho Tapas Bar, and Ocean Blue restaurants, for the following per person upcharges:

    • The Supper Club - $15 USD
    • Ocean Blue - $15 USD
    • Bayamo - $15 USD
    • Cirque Dreams/Illusionarium - $10 USD regular seats/$15 USD premium seats/$35 USD VIP seating on Breakaway
    • Sushi -$7 USD
    • Raw Bar - $7 USD (does not include Seafood Plateau. If ordered, the upcharge is to be waived)
    • Pincho Tapas Bar - $7 USD

  9. Thanks for the information. The $29.95 is strictly for Internet, not texting and only for one device, correct? Could you make WiFi phone calls if you got this package?

For the spa pass, if my spouse and I are getting a pass for each of us, would we be able to use the services together or are there separate areas for men and woman. Would this spa tend to be more crowded because it's not a warm climate to begin with.

Your phone would be on airplane mode with wifi turned on. To make calls, you would be able to do so with apps like Skype. Texting via imessage would be included since those are done using data. To text non-iphone folks, you would have to use alternative texting apps.

  10. One cruise my wife forgot to pack my underwear. So at our first port, we found the nearest department store to buy some. On another cruise we were traveling with 3 friends and one of them thought all she needed for the trip was a drivers license. Luckily we had flown in a day early and Fedex provides a special service where they went to her home with a empty pouch where her mom placed her passport in and sealed it. It was delivered to our hotel that same night. On our last cruise, my wife forgot her birth control pills.
