  1. Yes, it’s just me and my husband.  We live in New York and spend the winter in Florida to get away from the cold and snow.  This year we’re coming back early, going home to wash clothes , repack and head to Manhattan for the Venezia.  The first cruise is 12 nights so 22 nights on the ship and hopefully the weather will be warming up when e get back.  You’ll have an amazing time with your family there to celebrate your anniversary with you.

    I really wish this group was more active.  We enjoy meeting new people and like to sometimes book private shore excursions with others.  Have you done all of the above ports before?

    We've been to all the ports several times, but not recently.  I'm looking forward to visiting them again.

  3. Has anyone had experience with the NCL Mountaintop Forest Tram in Icy Strait?  Do they take you to the TOP of the mountain or just to the first observation spot that the Free Tram takes you to?  Any information will be appreciated.

  4. The Disney parks are pretty expensive for the amount of time you'll be there.  Port Canaveral is at least an hour away by bus without any kind of traffic or delay.  We tried it once and will never do it again, not enough time in the park.  We have gone to Disney Springs, which is a Disney shopping village.  There are plenty of stores if you want Disney themed items and  a lot of restaurants.  We've also done the Cape Canaveral excursion, which was wonderful.

  5. Was wondering how the cabin was. if it was larger than the regular balcony cabins. thanks

    Hi, The cabin really wasn't bigger than other balcony cabins but the balcony itself was larger. There are no coffee tables in these new cabins so there's more room to move around. However, you can move the desk over to the couch if you order room service ( I felt the desk was to high to eat on at the couch).

  6. My Son In Law proposed to our daughter while they were on a cruise on Formal Night.

    He spoke to the Head Waiter and had their waiter bring the ring to the table while dessert was being served. They put a velvet cloth on the dish with the ring box on top and a silver plate cover over the plate. At my SIL's signal the waiter uncovered her plate and my SIL was down on one knee. Their table mates were all shocked and they bought a bottle of champaign for the table to celebrate.

    There was no Romance Coordinator at that time.

    Good luck!

  7. Happydaz, we are on the Aug 30th sailing as well as the week before (Aug 23rd). Any of you on board for both?

    Never done a Meet & Mingle...what do you guys do?

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    RCCL usually gives everyone in attendance a small gift. They have some sort of refreshments, non alcoholic drinks and snacks. You have a chance to meet people you've been talking to on the Cruisecritic Roll Call. They usually have a drawing for a small prize or two. There will be the Loyalty Ambassador, sometimes the Cruise Director in attendance to answer your questions about the cruise or RCCL.
  8. I will be on the Jewel Agust 30th. Could I also get a copy of the Compasses. Thank You!!! Just joined and new to all of this. Do you need my email address????
    MommaNeedsACruise -- I'm also sailing on the Jewel on August 30th.
    There is a Roll Call for this cruise here on Cruisecritic that you can join. There is also a Meet and Mingle registration you can sign up for. If we have 25 people register for the Meet and Mingle, RCCL will have a get together for us on our cruise. The Roll Call has been pretty quiet but hopefully it will pick up as we get closer to sailing.
    Happy Cruising!:)
