When we were on Navigator 4 years ago, they had 2 beer tasting events at the pub run by the beverages manager Jeremy. They had a decent variety of beers available, but not many I'd consider a craft beer.

The beers we had were:

Grolsch

Hoegaarden

Blue Moon

Boddingtons

Sam Adams Imperial White

Guinness Draught

Longhammer IPA

Newcastle Brown

Estrella Damm

Chimay Blue

I also had a Pilsner Urquell one evening at the pub.

All the beers were either from can or bottle.

It would appear we have new menus on Adventure this week. Gone are the themed menus. I'll have a full report with pictures of the new menus in my review.

I like Phil a lot. Unfortunately he told me he won't be on my May cruise -- He leaves for vacation at the end of April. Sigh. Well, maybe -- just maybe -- We can get Derek Lewis to return to the pub, now that it is non-smoking.

Any idea how long his vacation is? Hoping he's back for our cruise in August.

We did the dolphin & stingray excursion on Grand Cayman last March through RCI. My parents took our kids (boys 10 & 12) to swim with the dolphins while we sat on the side and watched. I was able to take pictures & video of them in the water.

Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. If I had a complaint, it would be that we were required to go to a beach afterwards. You had no choice. The staff was very rude when anyone asked if they could be taken back to the ship. It was loud and crowded. We ate at the bar / restaurant. The food was good but very expensive.

The Promenade Cafe is free. However the specialty coffee and ice cream shops right adjacent are not.

There's a corkage fee of I believe $25 if you bring it to the dining room.

The only ships with cruises in summer 2015 right now are Oasis, Allure, Freedom, Indy & Grandeur

What's the temperature in Galveston?? I'm in Nebraska and it's a balmy 5 degrees.

It's 41 and breezy in Galveston. It's currently 25 in DFW with wind chills in the teens.
