We booked a cruise with a post stay at the IC Moorea beginning 2/5/14. PG bumped us from our first post night at the IC Moorea and said that they would put us up up at the IC Tahiti for the first night and then transfer us to Moorea for the the next two nights. This is unacceptable as we chose Moorea for a reason. We had this booked for a year. And, we had paid for it in full. They said they had sold the entire resort in Moorea out for the first day we had booked and we'd just have to deal with it. We choose Moorea specifically for our OWB experience. We chose post versus pre so we'd be fresh for the three day experience. Their solution for this is to change our post Moorea stay to a pre Moorea stay with an onboard credit of $200 which is 1% of the trip cost. So, we don't get what we booked and paid for in full and they offer us 1% of the cost of the trip. This change occurred after the trip cancellation penalty went into affect and it's unclear if we can get out of this $17,000 we've paid in advance. We went from being so excited to feeling cheated.
Dear Jloweinmo,
We apologize that your travel plans were impacted by the February 15th buy out in Moorea at the InterContinental Moorea Resort & Spa. As a result of the buy out, we were able to confirm a 3-night pre-cruise package at the resort. However, if you are not satisfied with these arrangements, please contact us directly at 1-800-848-6172, so that we can discuss alternative options with you.
Kind Regards,
Paul Gauguin Cruises

Do typhoons such as this one affect sailings to the Cook and Society Islands? I mean rough seas or itinerary deviations.

Ia Orana Shelley G,
Typhoon Haiyan that impacted the Philippines was far away from the Cook Islands. We are keeping all the people in the Philippines who have been touched by this disaster in our thoughts and prayers.
Kind Regards,
