I also no longer drink alcohol.

I have had some of their non-alcoholic wine and it's awful.

I love the taste of beer and found Heineken 00 is the best.

It has great taste and ZERO alcohol and is available on Royal ships.

I'm glad to hear that there is a NA beer option. Can we get those with the "Refreshment Package"? Do they count as a mocktail?

  2. My goodness we did. Couldn't help but notice. The first time I saw them I assumed they were staff members from a show. Then someone asked while at Hubbard and they just said they liked to dress that way.

Not for me to judge. If it makes them happier, whatever. Just never seen anything like it.

I agree. I thought it was creative and they obviously enjoyed it. We always got a kick out of it when our paths crossed.

Anyway, I am enjoying your review. This was also my first on NCL, after several on RCCL and Disney. I'm looking forward to more.

  3. This year I'm sure the Bliss has something to do with it. You know new ship and everyone wants to be on it. If I had to make a guess about the age demographic's on my last Alaska cruise, I'd put it late 40's as the average. Yeah they seem dead, but I'm not as concerned about the roll call issues as I am on what the heck am I going to do in Seattle with a 6 hour layover on the way to Anchorage.

We have a five hour layover this weekend in Seattle; on the way to Anchorage to board the Jewel in Seward. Approximately midnight to 5:00am.. I've been doing some research on sleepinginairports.net I can't justify paying for a hotel for just a few hours. It'll just be part of the adventure for us.

Oh, and our roll call isn't super active either. But we are looking forward to the meet and greet.

  4. We are booked for Alaska next July, in cabin 8050 on the Norwegian Jewel. I've spent a couple of hours searching here, and I've read conflicting opinions about how obstructed the view is from this cabin. Many of the threads are several years old. Some say it's great-- no obstruction, and a few say there is a small boat in front of the window.

Has anyone recently sailed her? Anyone have pictures of the room?

Regardless, we can't wait!!! It'll be our first time on NCL and we are thrilled to be going to Alaska.

  5. Subbing...

We love Disney, and the two Disney cruises we've taken. But, we also had a really great time Mariner of the Seas a few months ago. So much that we booked the Freedom for February 2014. I'm excited about that trip, especially since we are going with friends. However, I am even more thrilled about our next Disney cruise.

bottom line, I am incredibly thankful for having the opportunity to cruise at all!

Oh, Hi Scottishwee! I recognize you from that other message board....we are on the Disney WBTA with you next fall.
