Bodden or Rony's Either one will do the trick
-
That nice Carnival beach is a man made one we do not care for. Some like it though.. I would suggest an island tour with Bodden or Rony as Roatan is very scenic and they can take you to West Bay beach as well..
-
Hi again Guest...Sorry for late reply..I only found 2 in Roatan I have not been here much since we quit cruising..Back to Playa Del Carmen in Nov and Punta Cana in April...I guess we just cruised too much and really like the AI's...
I don't know... the West End Divers cam is showing on their webpage but it is not current either.. maybe skyline removes them from the list when they are not functioning.I agree I very much enjoy the cams..if only because I miss the island so much.
-
This is Little French Key and there is a West Bay view also on the main page with a bunch of others..

You pay the balance in cash when you get there...If it were me I would not pay in full now...

Corona Beach Break is a total waste unless you like a dirty beach right by the pier with blarring music and the little Corona beer bottles....Like someone said go on your own farther down the malecon..

I don't think this cat knows where Cozumel is period ?

There are two water taxis...Belize Express is just right out the gate to the left maybe 100 yards, Make another left and walk toward the water and it is no your right, and I promise, no one will maul you. I believe it should still be less than $20 PP round trip, and about an hour each way. You could not get me to go again with Coral Breeze if it was free....
Do you get a water taxi at the dock where the tender drops you off? Do you know how much the water taxi costs and how long is the ride? I am assuming you can get a private boat out to the reef once you get to Caulker? -
We went there with Carnival and Rccl....All drinks were included. I know because I had too many...Never heard of just one or two included ?
-
Drinks are all included...
I believe that the meal is included in the price (we are doing the ship excursion), but I'm not sure about the drinks and if it's unlimited. If it's not, pricing on soda and alcohol please. :) -
Get in line early for tender tickets and you will be fine...
-
After looking at it on their website , my guess is maybe Infinity Bay, again, a somewhat educated guess..The whole West Bay area is not all that large, so anywhere there should be just fine..

I am hardly on CC any more after we have switched from cruising to all inclusive resorts. Anyway, there have been a ton of reports here about Coral Breeze. To quickly repeat, they were great when they used Hammerhead boat crew ,and their ship sank after that, so to speak. We were crammed into a small, one engine boat for the 1 1/2 hour ride to Caulker and Shark Ray..My wife went as an observer, dressed nicely. We were bombarded with salt water there and back. It was totally miserable. The snorkeling was good, but we barely had time at Caulker to even eat. After the horrible ride back they unloaded us by some cement wall, not where we left from, and there were armed agents waiting to check the crew for whatever reason ? We were back at Belize City in March and I bumped into the Hammerhead guy that used to work for them and we had a nice chat about Coral. All I can say is unless you are sure they have changed , DO NOT use them I would suggest a water taxi to Caulker and a private boat from there out to reef for snorkeling, a 4 min. ride. Good luck with whatever you decide...

We have done it with Royal C. and Carnival and enjoyed it both times, but it has been a couple of years. We thought the food and drinks were fine, and we enjoyed the 40 min ride there, which is a little closer from where NCL docks..One tip is to maybe take the early tour as chairs in the shade were a little scarce when we did the late one...Photo of the boat and PI....

Hi. I haven't been here much since we quit cruising and switched to all inclusive resorts..To answer your questions, I am sure you could snorkel at TB , but there is a lot of grass. The divers are taken about a mile out to the reef...We saw people in the water, but there were only a handful on the whole place while we were there. There were several Canadians that were there. One couple were not divers, just liked the peace and tranquility....
-
They are all locally owned. We have never had a problem on any of them..Just enjoy the ride...
Are the tenders supplied by the port at Belize rather than the ship? (I hope not.) -
If you dock at Coxen there is quite a bit right there at the pier and a bunch of shops up and down the street outside the gate. We have been there several times and my wife and I walked these streets a lot and have never once felt unsafe..There is nothing elaborate in this area though...You would have to go to West Bay or West Beach and you will not have time with two hours...You can get a beer out on the street at the little convenience stores for about a dollar...
-
The tender has never really bothered us but I believe if you are affected the worst part is the up and down motion while it is still tied up, so maybe for you last one on might be good. Also, we have had the large tenders and the small ones, but I like the small as they do not hold as many people and they get underway quicker....photo of a smaller one..

Again, I apologize for the late reply as I have just about disconnected from CC , but to answer the question, probably not too hot for beach snorkeling, but the divers I spoke to said the reef is amazing..I have no knowledge of the snorkel excursions from TB Whatever you decide , I do hope you have an amazing trip..Sorry for the typos...
TXSail you mentioned that the water had a lot of grass. We like to snorkel and play in the ocean' date=' so from what I gather this would not be the place to get in the water???[/quote'] -
Forgot to mention. If you go take some bug spray, first time we needed it. Also you can e mail Kimberly , the reservations person there and she will answer pretty quick. The contact info is in this link. We paid when we got there, not ahead. They furnish towels so no need to take from ship...

I have not been on here much lately as after a bunch of cruises we kind of burned out and tried an all inclusive and loved it. Anyway, we were at TB in March. We used their transportation for $25 PP and all went fine. It is very peaceful there, maybe too quiet for some. It is beautiful but the water has a lot of grass but we did not swim . I believe beers were $3 and food is limited but grouper fingers were very good...It is about 30 min from Mahogany and maybe 40 from Coxen. This was our 5th trip to Roatan so we have seen most of it including the less traveled east end. Here is a slideshow with quite a bit of TB....Hope this helps..

The photo is one of the small local snorkel boats from Caulker...Our Coral Breeze boat was a wee bit bigger, and it was quite difficult, no ladder to speak of..
-
We have been to Roatan 5 times, and for your needs Guest 2000 is correct.I also do not know exactly which resort IM uses, but $33 PP is a good price as the last time we went there we had a driver for $20 PP and paid $10 PP at Argentine Grill for loungers on West Bay...It is definitely a nice beach though..
Can you please post a review about West Bay? Specifically - what kind of loungers they have, how nice the beach/water is, how long the ride there was.I think we are leaning towards doing the Roatan West Bay Beach Break with Island Mkting. it is $33 pp but that includes your transportation, lounge chairs, drink so not a bad price.

Not here much anymore since we gave up cruising for AI's, but after a horrible experience with Coral Breeze I would take a water taxi to Caulker and hire a local boat from there, a 4 minute ride.
