  1. Thanks for the trolley sked Mike.

My husband likens my first Vij's experience to some kind of takeover. I have never eaten Indian food at a restaurant before, but am a great cook and LOVE spices.

If you head over to the Trip Advisor site and check under Vancouver restaurant reviews, you'll see they are (were) #1. And I'm sure they can supply you with more info than I....BUT the Samosas appetizers; lamb popsicles and spot prawns were AWESOME....as was the Naan bread and dipping sauce and Chai.

I do know we got there (as instructed thru TA) prior to their 530 pm opening time and were the first on line (no reservations); to be joined by many others shortly. It was a fun experience waiting outside and meeting others and sharing different views and experiences. A lovely group of three Canadian women asked us our top 3 spots to visit in NYC, which they were planning to visit in a few months (we are from NY) and we still argue over it to this day!

I know I'll be perusing their new menu shortly for our August return.

    ENJOY!

  2. Sat, Sep 15: Ho-Ho Trolley (2 days for price of one online) self tour of Stanley Park, Granville Island, anything else we see. VIJ's Indian Restaurant?

    I know that's where we're headed :)

Where did you find the 2 for 1 HoHo $? I remember reading it somewhere but forgot to write it down. Thanks

  3. When are you going?

We are flying out of EWR on Mon Aug 6 to Vancouver. Sightseeing there for 2 days and shipping out on the Volendam on Wed. Then shuttling down to Seattle on Aug 15, sightseeing for 3 days, flying out Friday night to LGA. LGA would NOT be my first choice, but hoping Sat. morning landing makes things somewhat more bearable.

It was important to us to do the multi destination and this itinerary gave us the best prices.

  4. Our family of 6 is sailing 7/31/2012 Carnival Spirit (no land tour, just not in the cards this time)

Days 1-2 Sunday and Monday 7/29-7/30 (My birthday) Check in at the Silver Cloud Lake Union (free shuttle to DT areas)

We plan to do the Space Needle, Boeing Tour, the market, and Underground if time allows.

Try Dukes on Lake Union for dinner! I almost booked our SEA portion hotel @ Silver Cloud just for this reason.....Ended up w.a different location via hotwire, but would be interested to hear your opinions of both the Lake Union Silver Cloud AND the SW flight w/chicago layover, since we are NY too and hopefully plan to be back
